Ian Anderson’s Post

Chair, Temple Scott Associates

Just one year ago nearly 300 emerging leaders from around the globe were arriving in Banff for the opening plenary of the 11th Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference. Absolutely critical to the success of CSC2023 was the leadership of the Conference regional chairs and co-chairs and their committees who welcomed the study groups to their provinces and territories for eight days of programing around the theme of “engaged leadership for inclusive change.” The program impact speaks for itself, with a recent survey showing 99% of the delegates described CSC2023 as a personally valuable experience (75% saying extremely valuable), 94% described the Conference as more valuable than other conferences or programs they have attended, and 88% saying it made them a better leader.    As the Lead Director responsible for the global program, I want to express sincere thanks from everyone involved for the remarkable leadership of regional chairs and conference alumni Rebecca Alty in NWT, Michael Hale in Yukon, Kirby Brown in BC, Joanne Hansen in Alberta, Wanda Charles and Marie Buchan in Manitoba, Michael Jolliffe and his team in Ontario, Eric Labelle and Roxanne Morin in Québec, Catherine Dallaire in New Brunswick, Ed McHugh in Nova Scotia, Patrick Dorsey and Dan Campbell in PEI, and Michelle Snow in Newfoundland and Labrador. It's no exaggeration to say that without you, this never would have happened!   #csc2023 #leadershipcanada #commonwealthleadersglobal #CSCglobalalumni
