Just completed another learning from UICC. This is particularly interesting for me, where this course look at some of the emerging leadership and organizational challenges of today including: Creating an environment attractive to talent Developing operational resilience Planning in the face of uncertainty Embracing the opportunities of digital Creating innovations for lasting social impact Strengthening the collaborative fabric and culture within our organizations In today's organizations, effective leadership hinges on inspiring genuine commitment, to foster meaningful engagement, and ignite the passion that drives individuals to invest their best selves in their work. This is truly more when it comes to NGO, where our largest resources are from volunteers. Authoritative leadership falls short. The ability to strategize, coordinate and delegate to the right talent is paramount to a shared decision making and accountability, especially when it comes to leading an NGO. It entails a heavy load of responsibilities, especially considering our accountability for public funds. Am fortunate to have a great team of diversified EXCO and dedicated team which brings wide ranging of resources, check and balance and ultimately maximizing our ability to create positive change in the communities we serve. #UICC #BCWA #BeatCancerWithAttitude #continuouslearning

The African Society for Social & Behavior Change Summit provided invaluable insights from our youth yesterday, highlighting three key takeaways: 1. Empowerment through Self-Determination: We must enable young people to identify their own problems, design their own solutions, and effectively utilize available resources. This approach fosters meaningful engagement and sustainable impact. #MeaningfulEngagement #YouthEmpowerment 2. Embrace Being MAD: It’s a badge of honor to be called MAD – it signifies that you are Making A Difference. Let’s celebrate those who challenge the status quo and drive positive change. #MAD #MakingADifference 3. Youth Leadership: Let the youth lead the change and own the change. Empowering young leaders ensures that the solutions are relevant and that the youth are committed to driving and sustaining progress. #YouthLeadership #ChangeMakers Join the conversation and support our youth in shaping a better future! #ASBSC #YouthLeadership #Innovation #SocialChange #Empowerment

If you understand the value of strong leadership in making a lasting impact, then the University of Pretoria’s (UP) MPhil in Responsible Leadership may be for you. Leadership can sometimes be the ultimate solution for or the cause of many problems. This is why significant amounts of time has been committed to understanding good, effective leadership. Societies around the world are facing complex, interrelated challenges, all of which shape the social, economic and environmental realities within which we live. Given the increasing political and economic influence of private sector organisations, there is an urgent need to consider how these organisations position themselves in relation to society and how they exercise their responsibility towards society. The MPhil in Responsible Leadership, hosted by UP’s Albert Luthuli Leadership Institute, explores important themes and questions within the field of leadership and how it can contribute to promoting the role of business organisations as agents that are able to create value for society at large. For more information, visit our website and download the brochure: https://ow.ly/fnJE50SoTf3 #ChooseUP #UniversityOfPretoria #ResponsibleLeadership #MPhil #AlbertLuthuliLeadership

🌟 Exciting News from WISTA Australia! 🚢 We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new leadership program, designed to empower and support emerging leaders in the maritime industry. Over the next three years, WISTA Australia intends to put through 120 women from around the country on this course, with sessions happening twice a year in different states. The first session will be held in Sydney on 25 June – International Day for the Seafarer, with a commitment to hold two training sessions per year in capital cities around the country. The following course will be held in Fremantle on the 26th of September World Maritime Day. Thanks to the generous support of Svitzer Australia, our inaugural education partner, the training course itself will be at no cost to participants. We are also thrilled to announce that Eleanor Shakiba from Think Learn Succeed will be facilitating the course. Eleanor is an impressive leadership coach and teacher, she will be bringing her expertise and passion for leadership development in the maritime industry to our participants. To all the managers and senior leaders out there in our industry, we would really like you all to give some thought to some good candidates or potential candidates and encourage them to apply. One thing we know is that women, particularly at earlier stages of their career, don’t have the same confidence as men or necessarily nominate themselves as leaders. Your role is really important here to help overcome some of that imposter syndrome and support them in getting out of their comfort zone. For more details watch the message from our WISTA Australia President Monika Lemajic below Look forward to seeing everyone’s applications and please click on the link with this post below to learn more on how to submit https://lnkd.in/gM7rmij7 #WISTA #WISTAAUSTRALIA #UNSDG#5 #LeadershipDevelopment #MaritimeIndustry #EmpoweringLeaders #WomenInLeadership #IDWiM #womeninmaritime #womenwhomovetheworld
