Share your views, insights and current practices on sex and gender as variables in pain research in a short survey by 15 April: https://bit.ly/4alkk74 An international group of 30 experts funded by an ERA-NET NEURON award invites you to complete a survey to understand current methodological approaches for the study of sex and gender differences in pain, with the aim of developing consensus recommendations and a research roadmap in this very important area.

Really powerful piece from Elly Hanson and well worth the read: "There is of course a clear gender dynamic here, so we might sum up the underlying sexual script as ‘sex involves objectified women performing for male pleasure’. When this version of sex is taken on board, whether explicitly endorsed or implicitly internalised, it can breed an entitled and dehumanising attitude in males and a performative, objectified self in females. This in turn can infect intimate relationships between men and women, boys and girls, with research finding for example that porn use reduces relational and sexual satisfaction and increases break-ups. So the notion that ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’, or rather 'what happens online stays online', looks instead to be a myth perpetuated by those who serve to benefit from it." https://lnkd.in/gGQhdZAV
