YES, Claudine Cheever, Gayle Troberman and Jonathan Mildenhall!! (And, thank you!!) I've got a lesson in the "Modern Marketing" class I teach at UCLA Anderson School of Management that places something new next to the funnel: the Programming Pyramid. (Literally a triangle; the funnel upside-down.) The upside-down funnel (pyramid) is aligned with the funnel's Awarenes, Consideration, Conversion, Loyalty, Advocacy segments of the pyramid to encourage us to think harder about the content we're providing to consumers (humans) along their journey. At the Pyramid's top is Premum Content & Experiences (could be ads, but could be a tv show, a live experience, podcast, music platform, art show...). Next is Periodic & Topical content. On a calendar, whether correlated to brand communication cycle, events in the real world or both. Next, Daily Content. Could be social, could be a digital billboard, a consistent masthead... Then, Always On. Last, Targeted & Personal (in a good way). This reframes our thinking from "what's the best time and place to capture our consumer and pull them down the funnel" to "think like a marketer, act like a producer and programmer." Modern marketers create content and experiences that attract and engage audiences rather than interrupt them, valuing people's time, offering real value, and of course driving brand and business results.

Hala Dean, Erin Moriarty, Starlet F., Chris McLoone #LDP2024 As this year comes to an end, and my 3rd year with Clarion Events Inc. - North America (which I can't even believe) I reflect on what a truly amazing ride it's been. When you think about success, collaboration, ideation and growth; it truly "takes village", "there is no "I" in team", "teamwork makes the dream work". I could go on and on with more catchy little clichés but I'm sure you get the idea. What I've learned over the last 3 years is that success is built with a foundation of go getters, a group that's deeply passionate about what they do, how they do it AND they do it together, because we're better together. Working within Clarion Fire & Rescue Group our work truly makes a difference, the passion we put forward daily impacts so many individuals. FDIC International is a one-of-a-kind event, it's electrifying and nothing short of amazing. Blessed to have fallen into this industry and now I can't imagine being anywhere else. Sales, fulfillment, production, editorial, leadership; we work in lockstep because we are all the boots on the ground to super serve our audience and customers not just at the show but all year long. As we head into 2025, my mantra will be "how can I help"? We should always look to our teammates and ask this. I would not be where I am today without the supportive and deep relationships that I have with each team member. Their help shaped my success; which shapes OUR success which is truly the goal, because after all there is NO "I" in team.

This was my first time attending the The Culture Factor Group annual conference, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity! To connect with culture-drivers from around the world was a unique gift. On our panel we chatted about how to drive organizational culture across global teams; the importance of DEI and intentionality on building diverse skill sets among teams; and what the advent of AI could mean for organizational culture & structure. A big thank you to Marc Jacobs for hosting the discussion, and to Jina Couture and Benoît Malric for sharing their expertise. There was lots of insightful content throughout the day; here were a few of my other key takeaways: 💡 Short-term decisions are made based on rationality; long-term decisions are made based on emotion. To relate this to branded merch specifically: building #brandlove will help you emotionally encode your brand with your target audience. 💡 Insights on the dimensions of national culture will enable you to optimize messaging and adoption of behaviours across global audiences; knowing how to marry these with your organizational culture is where the magic happens. 💡 We know rapid organizational change is now the norm; bringing your teams along on the transformation journey, and hiring for resiliency, adaptability and optimism is key. So to anyone looking to future-proof their careers: how are you building your skills? And are you actively contributing to your org culture to help drive success? Or are you simply passive?
