The RACGP’s Health of the Nation 2024 report reveals that while most GPs are using digital tools like telehealth and electronic prescribing, only 8% see themselves as innovators. Even though many GPs believe innovation boosts patient outcomes, only 13% feel well-informed about the latest advancements, and most are not using AI tools. Funding remains a key enabler, with 60% of GPs calling for more support to drive innovation. 👉 Read the blog for more - https://hubs.li/Q02Vfcvg0 The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #MediRecords

🚀 Where is digital health making its most promising progress these days? My answer: in analytics solutions plus some inroads in the engagement category through LLM-powered chatbots (the hallucination problem of LLMs not withstanding). See the chart below for my take on the state of digital health in 2024. I have been working in digital health for the past 14 years and I have seen most or all progress occur in one of three categories: measure - analyze - engage. In the early days, the most - and most needed - advancements happened in the "measure" category enabling to deploy clinical-grade measurement capabilities at consumer-electronic price points into patients' homes and lives (see AliveCor as a prime example). The past few years have brought great progress in the "analyze" category - mainly through AI-enabled solutions. That's where we stand today. What is still missing are engagement platforms that are truly seamless and contextual-aware. This has proven to be the hardest-to-solve category within the digital health value chain, but there is no way we can capture the full potential and value of digital health without almost science fiction-grade engagement modalities. What is your take on this? #digitalhealth #mobilehealth #connectedhealth #measure #analyze #engage

Co-founder/CEO, SeamlessMD | physician entrepreneur | enabling health systems to digitize patient care journeys with automated reminders, education and symptom monitoring - leading to lower LOS, readmissions, and costs
2023: What’s the ROI of your Digital Health solution for clinical outcomes? 😁 2024: Forget clinical outcomes… actually, is there AI involved? 🤦 I thought we finally figured things out in 2023, but just as quickly, we found a new hype train to get on for 2024. Feels like every year health tech picks a new wave to ride. A new “current thing”. Sometimes it’s an old wave (“this year will finally be the year of value-based care!”) Here’s the thing: ROI based on improved health outcomes at a lower cost should ALWAYS be the “current thing”. Buzz words and hot trends will come and go. But delivering high quality care in a sustainable way has to be the “main thing”. Let’s not forget that. P.S. I’m just as guilty as anyone for getting excited about the current discourse or latest trends (I mean heck, look at all the random AI stuff I write on here!). This post and video is as much poking at myself as much as the broader discourse 🙂 #digitalhealth #healthcareinnovation
