Making a successful regulatory submission can be challenging. We partnered with a pharmaceutical company to help them generate their usability engineering and design verification documentation for a self-administered IV device. How we helped our client succeed: • 𝗥𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: completed in just 3 weeks, including protocol development, device testing, and data analysis • 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀: developed custom tests for critical device functions, ensuring compliance with ISO 11608-1 • 𝗨𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: delivered a coherent UE strategy and file, conforming to IEC 62366-1:2015 The outcome? "The industry is looking to AI to bring better patient care via more accurate diagnosis," says Liz Thorn, our Head of Diagnostics. We recently asked our audience which trend they think will shape the diagnostics industry the most in 2025. AI-enhanced diagnostics came out on top with a commanding 55% of the vote. Wearable devices followed with 24%, while Point of Care (PoC) received 21%. We supported start-up Avasys Medical Technologies by optimising the user experience and design for manufacture of their innovative Central Venous Catheter (CVC) system. In March 2020, Team Consulting was challenged by the UK Government to rapidly develop and manufacture safety critical ventilators in response to Covid-19. Looking back, we can reflect on how much can be achieved in such a short timeframe with a multi-disciplinary team and lots of ingenuity. Working within an unprecedented timeline, we rapidly developed the Emergency Ventilator Apparatus (EVA 1.5), with the design frozen in 4 weeks and verification, transfer to manufacture and technical file generation completed in 6 weeks. The full EVA 1.5 design and development history was then transferred to the UK Government and the Crown. Here are some key highlights from the project: 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: we used an agile approach to manage multiple concurrent development activities, including mechanical design, pneumatics, software, industrial design and more 𝗥𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: by adapting an existing ventilator and using a large, dedicated and multidisciplinary team, the EVA 1.5 was design frozen in 4 weeks, manufacturing and technical file generation in 6 weeks 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: by collaborating with clinicians, we ensured to integrate simple and clear instructions for ease of use by potentially less experienced personnel under emergency conditions 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: we created a new technical file from scratch due to regulatory requirements, ensuring full compliance with medical device standards Read the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/e_C8yg7u #medicaldevices #medicaltechnology #healthcareinnovation
