The Presidential Climate Commission published the first-ever State of Climate Action in South Africa report. Its criticism of incoherent policies (especially when it comes to energy planning) that are hindering climate action sends a strong message to the government to stop working in silos. It will be interesting to see if the GNU can change that: https://lnkd.in/dn4wnNwt

The reliance on oil, coal, and gas is a complex issue. While these resources have fueled economic growth, concerns exist about their environmental impact, particularly their contribution to climate change. Some remain skeptical of the science linking human activity to climate change, while others acknowledge the problem but differ on the best solutions. Moving forward requires a conversation that addresses both the need for clean energy and the challenges associated with transitioning away from established energy sources. #EnergyTransition #ClimateAction #CleanEnergySolutions
