I have had discussions with a number of bank CEOs and CFOs who would agree: it’s not just about spending; it's about ensuring every penny counts. Amidst concerns about the cost of funds, the interest rate environment, and deposit gathering strategies, the true measure lies in selecting the right tools and ensuring a bank’s teams extract maximum value. Recent highlights from industry events like Bank Director’s #AOBA24, conversations with folks like Ron Shevlin (my colleague who authored this report) + what I anticipate discussing in the hallways of KBW Winter Financial Services Conference (that kicks off today), underscore a significant shift.
