It's been nearly eight months since our 2023 Annual Conference, and during that time, CASPA - Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Assoc. has organized numerous influential tech events in Silicon Valley. This year, under Mingyu(Jewel) Qu's leadership, our focus shifted to key themes like power semiconductors for data centers, AI and semiconductor advancements, and sustainability. Informative program today by the Federal Lab Consortium about Leveraging SBIR in T2. For those new to some of the U.S. Government Funding programs, that is the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program and Technology Transfer (T2). A few informative perspectives by the panel: CRADAs & SBIR: - Having a CRADA with a Federal Lab can provide a strategic development. Working with a lab under a CRADA allows a company to learn their federal agency customer and build credibility when submitting SBIR proposal. - CRADAS provide the company the opportunity to really know the lab, its technical staff, and has the potential to serve as a validation mechanism for a company. - For those new- a CRADA is a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement that allows a federal lab to partner with non-federal entity. Federal labs cannot provide funding to a non-federal entity under a CRADA, though they can provide in-kind support. Companies can also pay a federal lab under a CRADA to support work. - More to come....... #technology #technologytransfer #T2 #SBIR #research #researchanddevelopment

SSTI updates key technology area investment data tool | SSTI The Economic Development Administration’s (EDA) Regional Technology and Innovation Hubs (Tech Hubs) and National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Regional Innovation Engines (Engines) programs require regions to advance a critical technology area that already has traction in their region. To assist applicants, SSTI recently updated a data tool comprising two interactive visuals and a downloadable data file to identify critical technologies. The tool leverages PitchBook data on 18 industry verticals aligned with many of the 10 key technology focus areas (KTFAs) established by the 2022 Chips and Science Act. The data tool can be used to find data on technologies in an applicant’s geographic location, such as Nevada, where the Nevada Tech Hub won an EDA Tech Hubs designation and implementation award. https://ift.tt/2P3IKuF #news #cto #tech
