This brings to mind a conversation I had with a C-Level executive at my previous company. He mentioned that everyone was putting in overtime, and as an HR professional, leaving on time seemed to imply that I had a lot of free time. However, I chose not to dwell on it because I believe we operate in different working environments. Working late or overtime doesn't necessarily equate to being hardworking; it often reflects a lack of effective time management and a disregard for personal well-being. As employees, we contribute our professionalism to the organization, but it's equally important to maintain a work-life balance to ensure personal satisfaction. This balance allows us to approach work with a positive and relaxed mindset, ultimately fostering a more harmonious and productive work environment. Ignoring personal needs and overworking oneself can lead to exhaustion and burnout, which isn't conducive to creating a positive workplace atmosphere.
