Ireland has been a key centre of R&D for Ericsson since the first factory opened in Athlone, 1974, celebrating its 50th anniversary this week! 🎉 50 years on, that 250-strong factory has grown into a software development hub which now employs over 1,300 people! That makes it one of the largest R&D centres in Ireland. Ericsson celebrated the milestone with great fanfare, featuring the CEO and top executives, government and industry representatives, and 1400 employees marking the milestone together. To make the occasion even more special, Ericsson announced new partnerships with Enterprise Ireland and the Technical University of the Shannon (TUS). This new partnership is focused on managing mobile networks. They’ll be using digital twins, AI, and machine learning to create a virtual copy of the network. This way, they can experiment, tweak, and develop groundbreaking solutions without having to test on the real network. I was obliged and honored to host the 𝐔𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐱 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 at Amdocs yesterday for a whopping 250+ attendees! 🙏🏻 Delving into the insightful panel discussion organized by our Innovation Team anjan, Ketki, Manpreet and Akash virtually for our India based employees, where the panelists included Pranjal Gundesha, Dr. AngShuMan Ghosh (Ph.D., MBA, BE), and Ajeet Velankar. 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 ⚙️ GenAI Tech is powerful, but we must be cautious. Biases can inadvertently creep into decision-making processes. Responsible development and auditing are crucial while regular reviews and model training with unbiased data is key to eliminate AI bias concerns. 𝐄𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐔𝐬𝐞 🤖 Addressing bias requires ethical guidelines. Metrics and standards can help gauge an AI system’s trustworthiness, special focus should be put in communicating the role of technology and ensure that governance mechanism and adequate trainings are made available to the users. 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡-𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞 🧑🏻🏫 As technology integrates into education, teachers’ roles will evolve. Support mechanisms are vital to help them adapt and thrive. We need to make a transition from "Scoring" based education to a more practical, goal-based education system where teachers act more as technology facilitators! 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 💁🏻♂️ Deploying emerging tech to bridge societal gaps demands thoughtful consideration. Inclusivity, accessibility, and fairness should guide implementation. Fair and responsible use of technologies like AI, ML and IoT Devices are crucial and need to ensure that societal problems are considered and technology is built to solve problems and not to boost problems further. 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐨-𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫? 🛫 The consensus: Both! Technology and humans should collaborate. Co-piloting ensures responsible innovation and societal progress. Responsible technology use, innovation, and human collaboration are key to shaping a better future!

🙏 Gratitude 🙏   After more than a decade, I'm bidding farewell to my current role here at Product Innovation and Customer Experience (#PIX) in Deutsche Telekom's Technology and Innovation (#VTI) board area (spoiler: I am not leaving Deutsche Telekom 😉). It's been an incredible journey so far - filled with growth, learning, and unforgettable experiences. If there's one emotion encapsulating how I feel now that parting is only 24 hours away it's gratitude.   Most importantly, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to work with, learn from and eventually become friends with so many brilliant people. Building and launching a multi-million user app from ground up (#ConnectApp), establishing one of the first actionable machine learning based data products at scale in broadband (#PredictiveMaintenance), pushing the boundaries of telco customer engagement by standing on the shoulders of giants (#OneApp), building and working closely with incredibly talented teams across the whole globe (#India), being exposed to an energizing community of talents via #TalentHub (Inge Rader), finding a home in a community pushing #productexcellence (Tibor Megyeri)… I could easily continue the list. In a nutshell: Thank you #DeutscheTelekom for constantly providing places to #QuestionTodayandCreateTomorrow   I'll cherish the memories made and the connections formed up until now and can't wait to open the next chapter of my journey within Deutsche Telekom. I have now been an employee of Deutsche Telekom for 15 years to the day. In this day and age, it's not a given to work for a single company for such a long time and is rather unusual, especially in our fast-moving industry. In my professional environment, however, I see many people who have dedicated themselves to #teammagenta for as long or longer than I have. I think that speaks for the qualities of my employer and the working environment it offers its employees. I am often asked what has motivated me to work at Telekom for so long. For me, the answer is very clear: it doesn't feel like I've been doing the same all these years. I have been constantly developing, learning and trying out new things. I've always had the opportunity to work on the topics that are significantly influencing and changing our industry. Over the years I was involved in interactive television, digital reading and publishing, voice-based user interfaces, artificial intelligence and data-based customer experience, this meant I was always dealing with things that were very current and had a significant impact on the industry and society. For me, the fact that Telekom, as a company with a long tradition and an incredibly broad customer base in Germany, has always had the courage and ambition to actively shape these developments at the forefront is a large part of its attractiveness as an employer.  Today I look back a little and forward a little.
