Impact in action! One of the first large-scale renewable energy projects in The Bahamas began operations this week, aiming to cut over 5,000 tons of CO2 emissions per year and close to 150,000 tons over its 25-year lifespan. The Fairfield solar plant, developed by Lucayas Solar Power, will contribute significantly to The Bahamas' climate goals. The project also promotes gender equality, with a minimum goal of 10% female participation for non-traditional roles in the construction and installation of solar panels. Fairfield presents a unique opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase gender equality, and fuel economic growth. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3xZRhHS

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁? Starting a movement requires more than a vision; it demands action, dedication, and the collective will to drive change. As Forbes aptly states, "At their best, social movements activate the possibility of everyone being a changemaker - where all citizens feel their power to make a positive difference in the world." 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘴? 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴? On International Women’s Day in 2022, IIX launched the Orange Bond Initiative™. Orange Bonds are the world’s first asset class, built by and for the Global South and the 99%, and designed as a solution to financing gender equality at the intersection of climate action, resilience, and peace. From this initiative emerged the Orange Movement™. The Orange Movement™ is dedicated to creating a world where gender equality is the norm, paving the way for a sustainable future that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion. Gender equality should already be the norm, but this movement addresses the systemic changes needed to make it a reality. It's about more than just taking up space; it's about shaping a future that revolutionizes our societal structures. And the best part? You have a role to play in this revolution. No matter how big or small your contribution, it's significant and empowering. So, maybe take some time to ask yourself: How are you being inclusive? How are you contributing to a more equitable and diverse world? #OrangeMovement #OrangeforGenderEquality #impactinvesting #investinginwomen #sustainabledevelopment
