A great safe telescopic gate installed by the gates team. Safety is our focus along with security with this machine. We call it a machine, because that’s what it’s defined as under safety laws. Installed are 7x resistive safety edges to all shear, crush and impact points on the machine. They provide either an immediate stop or a stop and short reversal depending on settings. Reducing very likely crushing and Guillotine risks to very unlikely. This is rarely seen in Australia due to the absence of clear guidelines around safety in gates and automation and what to do to control them. This is common practice and standard in the EU and UK. In addition to this, ideals internal requirement of no single point failure is provided in both automated and manual operation. What this translates to in this gate is: 1- Double twin rollers with internal catch plates between guide angles and brackets. 2- Anti lift brackets to both leafs. 3- Substantial physical overrun prevention devices. These additional layers of safety mean that in a failure of one or many components, the gates still cannot separate from themselves causing a catastrophic failure, injury or death. This is rarely seen in Australia outside of a few expert companies in the business. This is not provided with any standard telescopic hardware and must be custom fabricated. ICYMI CWA — A member of Norda Stelo — designed a rail car unloading system that integrates a tandem rotary railcar dumper capable of unloading rail cars in pairs to achieve an 8,000 tonnes/hour throughput. The spotting and movement of railcars through the receiving station is automated using indexing equipment capable of positioning and translating the railcars without the need to disconnect them or disrupt the setup of the string. The design of an innovative recirculating dust collection system allowed the railcar unloading rate to double while remaining within air emissions typical for approximately one half the throughput. #engineering #materialhandling #drybulk
