Earlier this week, we celebrated Women’s Equality Day in recognition of a pivotal milestone in women’s rights. The day also serves as a reminder of the work that lies ahead to achieve true gender parity in every aspect of life, including the workplace. We are inspired by the actions of companies across the dairy industry, like Franklin Foods, who are leading the way in building a more equitable workplace. After attending IDFA’s 2024 Dairy Forum and learning about the State of Women in Dairy Report’s recommendations for the industry, Franklin Foods CEO Emma Aer recognized an opportunity to further support gender equality in the workplace. Franklin Foods expanded its parental leave policy to offer up to 12 weeks of paid leave for new mothers and 4 weeks for new fathers, supporting both men and women in balancing family and professional responsibilities. Franklin Foods' efforts to foster a flexible, inclusive culture show the power of collaboration and innovation in building a supportive work environment. We are so thrilled to be able to celebrate the progress happening in our industry and are continuing to prioritize this work to ensure that all women have equal opportunities to thrive. The 4-day workweek is about more than just cutting hours—it's about building a more equitable society. Research shows that when companies adopt a 4-day workweek, household labor becomes more evenly distributed between men and women, improving gender equality both at work and at home. The extra day gives everyone more time to contribute to household duties, care responsibilities, and shared tasks. The future of work is about equality across all aspects of life. Are we ready to make that change? #4DayWorkweek #GenderEquality #WorkLifeBalance #EqualHouseholds #WorkFour

Happy #IWD2024 Today, the 8th March 2024, is International Women’s Day. The campaign theme this year is #InspireInclusion which highlights the importance of diversity and empowerment in all aspects of society. This year's campaign theme emphasizes the central role of inclusion in achieving gender equality. It calls for action to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create environments where all women from all walks of life, including those from marginalised communities, are valued and respected. This #IWD Clarkslegal have put together some top tips for employers to help them ensure women are empowered and included in the workplace: - Eliminate unconscious bias and implement robust policies to prevent discrimination and harassment - Fully embrace flexible working - Give women a voice (invite them to give talks, hold panel events, speak freely in meetings) - Offer equal maternity and paternity leave so that couples can better balance childcare needs between them, and provide resources for work-life balance such as childcare support - Encourage women to negotiate for promotions and raises - Ensure your leadership teams are diverse to help guarantee equal representation in decision-making positions - Promote equal pay for equal work - Provide leadership, mentorship and networking opportunities for women Our employment team, which is made up of a diverse range of women, would be delighted to support you to implement these initiatives. #March8 https://ow.ly/emsy50QOrWM

Today, 19 February 2024, 17 days to go for International Women's Day, with the theme "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality". Here's an appreciation post, specifically dedicated to working mothers. Kudos! You are doing a marvelous job and no this is not only a post but a heartfelt gratitude to shape the generations that come after to be an amazing being. When I write about working mothers: Mothers who have a full-time job at an organization. Mothers who work part time to support their families. Mothers who work tirelessly and without gratitude working in a business. Mothers who work at home, without a job (full time or part time), without a business to support their families financially, but support their families in many other ways. You are an exemplar of who someone could be in life, so close to THE CREATOR! #appreciation #dshspeaks #womenempowerment #internationalwomensday

Croda proudly earns its place among the top 100 most gender-equitable companies worldwide. As today is International Women’s Day, we celebrate our recognition by Equileap for our constant commitment to advancing gender equality within Croda. This marks our second inclusion in Equileap's report since its inception 7 years ago, previously ranking 100th in 2023. Our ranking reflects our dedication to key criteria encompassing gender balance in leadership and the workforce, policies fostering equality, and fair compensation and work-life balance initiatives. Since 2019, we've fortified our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion approach, introducing measures like a Global Minimum Standard for Parental Leave, becoming a Living Wage payer, and promoting flexible working arrangements. 🔍 New insights from the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) reveal a critical link between care services and gender equality in the workplace. Evidence shows that the availability of subsidised care services has the most significant impact on reducing gender gaps in employment. EIGE’s modelling estimates that using these services increases the probability of greater gender equality by about 13%. A more balanced uptake of family-related leave depends on accessible, affordable, and high-quality care services. These are essential for enabling parents and caregivers to participate in the workforce. 📊 Key Stats: 🔹 34% of women and 30% of men with children under 12 struggle to balance paid work with childcare responsibilities at least four days a week. 🔹 In 2023, 26% of women aged 25–54 who were willing to work were inactive due to care responsibilities, compared to just 4% of men. 🔹 The gender gap in individualised income for those inactive due to care is a staggering 48%, highlighting the financial vulnerability of carers, most of whom are women. One significant reason for this inactivity or reduced working time is the lack of available, accessible, and quality formal care services. Nearly half of part-time workers in the EU would move to full-time jobs if these services and more flexible working arrangements were available. 🛠 Public policies must ensure sufficient, affordable, and high-quality care services to enable women to return to full-time work when they choose. The coordination between parental leave and early childhood education and care (ECEC) services is crucial to increasing women’s participation in the labour market. The domestic and home care sector plays a crucial role in achieving gender equality. Complementary childcare that is accessible for parents is essential. That must include childminders or individual childcare at home within the ECEC services. It would provide parents with alternative solutions to choose which care paths suits them best. This approach would help fill the gaps between the end of well-paid leave and the start of subsidised, high-quality formal ECEC, enabling more parents, especially women, to stay active in the workforce. #GenderEquality #WorkLifeBalance #HomeCare #PHServices
Work-life balance isn't just about juggling - it's about justice and equality for all! 📢 Today at the High-Level group on Gender Mainstreaming in Hungary, EIGE presents its latest work on gender equality and work-life balance. 💡 Key Findings: ➡ Women still bear the brunt of caregiving, widening the employment gap. ➡ Subsidised care services are crucial - boosting gender equality by up to 13%. ➡ More flexible and better-paid leave could encourage fathers to participate more. ➡ Shorter parental leave could help reshape traditional gender roles. ➡ Returning to work? Flexible, family-friendly policies can make it easier! 👉 Dive into the full analysis and discover more insights in our latest policy brief: https://lnkd.in/eV3KbpAk #GenderEquality #ParentalLeave #WorkLifeBalance
