International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA)’s Post

Earlier this week, we celebrated Women’s Equality Day in recognition of a pivotal milestone in women’s rights. The day also serves as a reminder of the work that lies ahead to achieve true gender parity in every aspect of life, including the workplace. We are inspired by the actions of companies across the dairy industry, like Franklin Foods, who are leading the way in building a more equitable workplace. After attending IDFA’s 2024 Dairy Forum and learning about the State of Women in Dairy Report’s recommendations for the industry, Franklin Foods CEO Emma Aer recognized an opportunity to further support gender equality in the workplace. Franklin Foods expanded its parental leave policy to offer up to 12 weeks of paid leave for new mothers and 4 weeks for new fathers, supporting both men and women in balancing family and professional responsibilities. Franklin Foods' efforts to foster a flexible, inclusive culture show the power of collaboration and innovation in building a supportive work environment. We are so thrilled to be able to celebrate the progress happening in our industry and are continuing to prioritize this work to ensure that all women have equal opportunities to thrive.
