Jamie Beckett's article in General Aviation News was a shining light given the spotlight of DEI in recent events. "In its purest form, aviation is a meritocracy. Individually, we can do it or we can’t. We meet the standard of performance or we don’t. That’s it. Nobody is too tall, too short, too blond, too bald, too pale, too dark, too whatever." Let's have positive discussions on how we bring the next generation of aviators in and provide them the knowledge to succeed. https://lnkd.in/ekzNJRUa

FACT: Today is National Aviation Day in honor of Orville Wright's birthday. CONTROVERSY: There has been some debate on which state is worthy of the title "First in Flight". For those who call North Carolina home (such as myself) there may be some bias since the title is due to the legendary 12 second flight on Dec. 17, 1903, at Kill Devil Hills near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. However, Wilbur and Orville spent most of their lives in Dayton, Ohio, where their outlandish idea of human flight were manifested into reality. It was there where those dreams turned to sweat that brought us to where we are today. QUESTION: I'm curious to hear from those who have a passion for aviation - past, present, and future - What state do you believe is most deserving of the title "First in Flight"? Today many may take these amazing machines for granted thanks to the wild ideas of those Wright Brothers. What also may be taken for granted is the crew members needed to operate these jets safely everyday. Do not settle for having "enough to get by" in your flight department. Let your crew get the support and rest they need and reach out to myself and the team at In-Flight Crew Connections should you ever need additional support in any of your business aviation personnel needs. Happy National Aviation Day.
Happy NATIONAL AVIATION Day! National Aviation Day is observed in the United States on August 19 each year to celebrate the history and development of aviation. It also celebrates the birthday of Orville Wright who, together with his brother Wilbur, made significant contributions to powered flight. Orville made the first flight for 12 seconds and 120 feet around the site of Wright Brothers National Memorial on December 17, 1903.

Supporting colleagues, across the vertical lift sector, through the development of safety-enhancing and proportionate regulation.
Happy World Pilot’s Day to all our followers from the EUROPEAN HELICOPTER ASSOCIATION The date was selected by the International Federation of Air Line Pilots' Associations (IFALPA) in 2013 as a day that saw a prominent figure in aviation history, Fesa Evrensev, taking to the sky for the first time. How appropriate that a significant part of our industry is together in Vienna for the HeliOffshore Ltd conference with the main theme being how we move from cooperation to collaboration in the interests of improving safety so no lives are lost in offshore aviation - an aim and sentiment we support universally.

"If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing." - Chuck Yeager Chuck Yeager passed away on December 7, 2020. He was a US air force officer and test pilot, becoming the first pilot in history to break the sound barrier in a flight. This quote emphasizes the importance of safety and pragmatism. It encourages us to focus on achieving our goals and objectives while prioritizing safety and avoiding unnecessary risks. It also reminds us that even when things don't go perfectly, we can still achieve success if we are able to move on and learn from our experiences. In conclusion, Chuck Yeager's quote about landings is a powerful reminder of the importance of safety, pragmatism, and excellence in both aviation and life in general.
