As today marks #WorldEnvironmentDay, we’d like to tell you a little bit more about the eco-friendly features that we include in our homes and across our developments to help support the environment and local wildlife. Jessica Place, Sales Manager at Rippon Homes said: “At Rippon Homes we are committed to creating a more eco-friendly future and we want to create a greener world in the areas we build. “That is why we are committed to creating greener homes and sustainable developments, with features such as hedgehog highways and wildlife corridors being a cornerstone of our builds. “Many of our developments contain ponds or wetlands, as part of a sustainable urban drainage system, which supports aquatic biodiversity. Ponds provide breeding habitats for amphibians, insects and waterfowl, as well as safeguard the quality of surface water runoff.” World Environment Day is organised by the UN Environment Programme and aims to raise awareness for the importance of biodiversity and engage people across the world in the effort to restore and protect the Earth. #ripponhomes #newhomes #developments #lincolnshire #sustainability

It’s World Wildlife Day, and so we thought we would take a moment to share some pictures from our wild meadow. Although we invest a lot into our buildings and machinery, it is also important to direct our attention to the local habitat that surrounds us. Planting the right shrubs, flowers and trees in our meadow means we attract a wide variety of animals and insects helping with the biodiversity of our site. It also reinforces our commitment to being more environmentally conscious in all that we do. No matter how big or small the contributions that we all make, we know that the collective difference we can have is significant. #WorldWildlifeDay #Environment #WildMeadows #Nature #PositiveChange #EnvironmentallyFriendly #CorrBoard #Sustainability

This past Sunday, the Ecolution team celebrated the beauty and diversity of our world's wildlife for World Wildlife Day. Here's why raising awareness around wildlife & biodiversity regeneration is so important in 2024: As a society, we rely on wildlife and biodiversity-based resources to meet our basic needs. This is why the current rate of biodiversity loss is concerning. The construction industry needs to shift from merely preserving biodiversity to regenerating it. This means installing landscaping that regenerates surrounding biodiversity in the built environment. Currently, the Green Star V2 rating system is creating a glimmer of hope: By focusing on awarding projects that incorporate regenerative design principles, specifically enhancing habitat, V2 mobilises projects to be active in creating sustainable legacies. In light of this, we renew our commitment to protecting wildlife and preserving their habitats by promoting building construction practices that: 1️⃣Support conservation initiatives 2️⃣Advocate for sustainable practices 3️⃣Encourage responsible stewardship of natural resources. This way, we support the future of our planet for generations to come. What are you doing to raise awareness? Please share your thoughts with us! #WorldWildlifeDay #WildlifeConservation #Biodiversity #Ecosystems #NatureAwareness #ProtectOurPlanet #WildlifeProtection #SpeciesConservation

We’re supporting Wilder Carbon and the Kent Wildlife Trust's Heather Corrie Vale site, a former golf course in the Darenth Valley, which is undergoing a remarkable transformation! 🌱 The 49-hectare site, encompassing grassland, woodland, and scrub habitats, is being rejuvenated through natural processes like grazing and disturbance by longhorn cattle. We’ve purchased Carbon Credits from the Heather Corrie Vale project, validated under the Wilder Carbon Standard for Nature and Climate. This will not only aid in abating our emissions but also boosts biodiversity. The income generated from the Carbon Credits has already funded significant project milestones: ✅ The installation of 5,100m of fencing, contributing to over 12% of the site-wide boundary. 💪 ✅ The introduction of seven English longhorn cattle, in winter 2023, which are proving instrumental in reshaping the landscape. Grazing and trampling behaviours are revitalising the land, facilitating the spread of scrub and trees by enabling seed germination - creating a more biodiverse landscape. 🐮 As well as this, colleagues at GrowUp have contributed 300 hours of volunteering across Kent Wildlife Trust - an equivalent of one full-time staff member for two months! 👩🌾 #HeatherCorrieVale #NatureRestoration #ClimateAction #Biodiversity

Yet more worrying evidence of how the vast majority of corporates do not have much of a grip on their impacts on nature, nor their dependencies on ecosystem services. Clearer than ever that a major step change is needed from policymakers, businesses, and investors alike if there is to be any hope of meeting the targets agreed through the Global Biodiversity Framework to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030. https://lnkd.in/gP-2xpre

Today, as we commemorate #WorldWildlifeDay, let's reflect on our collective responsibility towards our planet and its incredible biodiversity. At the heart of this responsibility lies our commitment to preserving and protecting the natural world for generations to come. Let's talk about Earth Responsibility Score (ERS) - a metric designed to assess our impact on the environment and wildlife. It's not just about profits and progress; it's about ensuring a sustainable future for all living beings that call Earth home. As individuals and organizations, we have the power to make a difference. Whether it's reducing our carbon footprint, supporting conservation efforts, or advocating for wildlife protection, every action counts. Let's leverage our platforms and resources to drive positive change and foster a harmonious relationship with nature. Join us in raising awareness and taking concrete steps towards a more sustainable and wildlife-friendly world. Together, we can make a significant impact and ensure that our planet remains a thriving habitat for all species. #EarthResponsibility #WildlifeConservation #Sustainability #WorldWildlifeDay2024 #ProtectOurPlanet

🌳💸 Forest restoration is about quality, not just cost! Some organizations, for example, claim that they can plant forests at $1 per tree. That's FAR from reality. Trillion Trees, a collaboration of conservation giants – BirdLife International, Wildlife Conservation Society, and WWF – highlighted this in a white paper. Their insights are telling: - Raising a seedling for $1 is one thing, but actual forest restoration, which brings human, climate, and biodiversity benefits, demands greater investment. Often, the "$1 per tree" model falls short, necessitating additional funding from grants or contributions. - Restoring ecosystems is not only about planting. It's also about monitoring, maintenance, co-benefits, and much more. Cost-efficient projects exist, of course! But they need to take all aspects into account to have a positive impact. #forestrestoration #sustainability #forest #nbs

Save the Sparrow Initiative At Ratnamani, we believe in giving back to our community and protecting our environment. Our Save the Sparrow Initiative aims to prevent the extinction of house sparrows, a vital part of our ecosystem that has been declining due to habitat loss and urbanization. With great pride, we distributed 1,82,000 sparrow nests across various communities, encouraging people to create safe havens for these charming birds. Our initiative is not just about providing nests; it’s about fostering awareness and inspiring collective action to preserve our feathered friends. Why House Sparrows Matter: * Ecosystem Balance: Sparrows help control insect populations and contribute to pollination. * Cultural Significance: These birds are a symbol of our connection to nature and the environment. * Biodiversity: Protecting sparrows helps maintain the delicate balance of our ecosystem. Join us in this noble cause! Together, we can make a significant impact and ensure that future generations can enjoy the beauty and song of house sparrows. Let’s create a greener, more sustainable world—one nest at a time! #Ratnamani #RatnamaniMetalsandTubes #SaveTheSparrow #RatnamaniCSR #EnvironmentalAwareness #Sustainability #CommunityImpact #ProtectNature
