Our Founder said this at the Women Deliver conference last year and it is still just as relevant now. This year’s International Women's Day theme is inclusion. This is a reminder of the unequivocal need to ensure that women are included in all spaces of decision making that affects us as the human race. At the Trust we do this through advocacy for women’s financial inclusion, women entrepreneurship support through Graça Machel Trust Women Creating Wealth Programme, gender lens investing here on the continent through #Afrishela, and recognising that we need to start early, through the Pan African Adolescent Girls’ Movement. We hope and encourage all organisations to not just look at gender equality and inclusion as #diversityequityandinclusion policy issue, but as a necessity for its growth and survival. 🎤 Find the full speech here: https://bit.ly/3uTkbbA #IWD2024 #PartnersForChange #Graçamacheltrust PMNCH Mastercard Foundation Visa UN Women The Elders Foundation Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation United Nations Foundation African Development Bank Group Industrial Development Corporation Fasset (Finance and Accounting Services Seta) Korkor Cudjoe

Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress As we gear up for #internationalwomensday, we're proudly rallying behind Canada's theme: "Empower Women, Accelerate Progress." It's more than just a theme though—it's helps to remind us that achieving gender equality isn't a distant dream; it's essential for creating thriving communities like Thames Centre! Our Council demonstrates the extraordinary leadership and resilience of women. Take Mayor McMillan, for instance— from her beginning as a dean's secretary to her success in real estate, all while balancing family responsibilities and volunteering, her journey is truly remarkable. But her leadership extends beyond personal achievements; driven by her love for her community, she has become a symbol of empowerment for women everywhere. As mayor, she prioritizes transparent communication, bridging the gap between governance and the public, while simultaneously inspiring women to pursue their own paths of leadership and success. Mayor McMillan's story encapsulates the essence of today's celebration: the grit, determination, and unwavering commitment of women. Let's not just recognize the progress we've made; let's commit to further investing in the advancement of women everywhere. #IWD2024 #internationalwomensday #thamescentre #investinwomen #InvestInWomenAccelerateProgress
