I she's really not iconic company with incredible heritage and travel and hospitality. We've been involved in travel and hospitality with hotel brands at least 80 years and we go back over 250 years. Today we're over 6300 open hotels around the world, under 19 brands from everyday affordable travel all the way to upper luxury in over 100 countries and growing. We have a profound commitment to sustainability around the world built around three major pillars. People, communities and plan. It aligned with the UN SDG's. It's been in development for many, many years. It's called Journey to Tomorrow. I think it's the leading industry commitment to sustainability. It's also very broad. We start with our people. We are committed to their Wellness, to their development, to their education, to their balance in life and to their progress, to diversity, to inclusion, to all the things that make Ice Sheet great place to work, a great place to grow and a great place to stay. Our communities, our front and center. That would go around the world. We're in over 100 countries, therefore we're in thousands of communities. Our commitment to improve the lives of millions of people around the world is deep and profound. And then our commitment for the planet to reduce carbon intensity in our hotels, to reduce water waste and food waste is something we've been working on very hard for many years and continue to. We're also looking to always do better. We believe that we can be a positive force in making the world a more sustainable place.

Embedding sustainability across our organization has been a key driver in enhancing our positive contributions and integral to the success we've achieved so far. As we assess our ambitious KPIs aimed at fostering a more responsible model of tourism, our Iberostar Wave of Change hub and sustainable operations teams, along with specialists from across the organization, came together to explore ways to amplify our efforts.
Every employee plays a role in this journey, and this was evident in the breadth of experts present at our meeting at Iberostar Selection Cancun. Our transversal approach not only enables us to achieve scale within the organization, but also streamlines processes, enhances efficiencies, and strengthens the business case for why we are committed to this path. Seeing the benefits of an integrated approach, we are inspired to collaborate and share further, to accelerate our collective progress and drive meaningful industry change.
