[#IndustrySpotlight] 🚀 Yesterday, we shared about supporting future, sustainable flights on Earth. Today we share about engineering future flights in outer space. A few days ago, ArianeGroup successfully completed their wet dress rehearsal for #Ariane6. https://lnkd.in/eSrfytj4 Do you know the special features of this rocket? Bigger and more powerful than before, Ariane 6 can carry more satellites than its predecessor. The upper stage engine can ignite and re-ignite four times. Our #space team is very familiar with this engine and #cryogenic valves since we designed many metal and polymer seals for these critical areas. Chat with our experts, Hilde Joosen or Brecht Reynders, to find out how our metal solutions protect this powerful launch vehicle. We are looking forward to its launch scheduled for July 9. Find more info about our space journeys here. https://lnkd.in/g3PWaSU4 Photo: Ariane Group #OmnisealMetals #MetalSealingSolutions #LeakageControl #HighTemperaturePressure #LaunchVehicle #FirstFlight #Engineering

Our Halo Electric Propulsion System has performed exceptionally well during its first in-orbit operation, exceeding all expectations! Installed on four small satellites as part of DARPA's Blackjack program, Halo's performance not only matched but outshined ground testing results. The system provided the precise propulsion needed to position the spacecraft, demonstrating its reliability and efficiency in space. This milestone highlights our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in small satellite propulsion. Read more about how Halo's cutting-edge technology is setting new standards in the aerospace industry! #InOrbit #Aerospace #ExoTerra #ElectricPropulsion #HallEffectThruster #Halo Matt Glascock Source: https://lnkd.in/ghuBSgGN

For Europe's new rocket Ariane 6 🚀 we supplied the Cardan gimbal mechanism for the upper stage of the Ariane 6 rocket. The mechanism serves as a joint for aligning the engine in the thrust vector control of the rocket's upper stage. The mechanism weighs just ten kilograms. It has to transmit the thrust forces of 15 tons (comparable to the power of a diesel locomotive). It also needs to function flawlessly in the large temperature gradient (200 degrees Celsius) between the cold liquid gas propellant tank and the hot combustion chamber. Ariane 6 is Europe’s new heavy lift launch vehicle replacing its predecessor Ariane 5. The Ariane 6 rocket has a reignitable upper stage allowing it to launch multiple missions on different orbits on a single flight. The monstrous metal chopsticks of the TOWER caught the ROCKET The launch tower’s monstrous metal arms, dubbed chopsticks, caught the descending 232-foot (71-meter) stainless steel booster and gripped it tightly, dangling it well above the ground. Incredible advancements in space technology, the reusable rocket boosters from SpaceX stand as a testament to innovation and sustainability in aerospace. These remarkable machines not only reduce costs but also pave the way for a future where space travel is more accessible than ever. The successful landings of Falcon 9 boosters remind us that perseverance and creativity can overcome even the most daunting challenges. Required "A Village" worth engineers to pull the feat ("Science fiction without the fiction part") SpaceX #falcon9 #SpaceX #RocketBoosters #Innovation #Aerospace
