This #WorldEnvironmentDay, we are proud to share our progress in conserving natural resources and promoting sustainable community practices. Our collaborative water conservation and waste management efforts foster a healthier, more resilient environment for future generations. The watershed and environmental conservation projects at Kolar, Hyderabad and Salem implemented by the S M Sehgal Foundation and Bala Vikasa Social Service Society, have significantly improved water storage, boosted agricultural productivity through silt distribution, regenerative horticulture while helping reduce overall water consumption through drip irrigation systems. Additionally, our project teams have educated farmers on scientific irrigation practices to ensure sustainable water usage. Under the waste management project, two 1250-litre capacity composters were installed to transform organic waste into valuable compost and encourage household waste segregation. To further proliferate awareness on waste management, a vibrant mural has been painted on the Bangalore walls with the community's support, urging people to reduce, reuse, and recycle for a cleaner city. These initiatives exemplify First American (India)’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and inspire our community to embrace eco-friendly practices. Together, we are building a greener, more sustainable future. 🌍✨ Pro India Presents: Sanrakshan Awards Series ✨🌍 We're excited to announce the Sanrakshan Award Series, dedicated to addressing the pressing challenges of e-waste generation and recycling in India! As urbanization and technological advancements surge, e-waste—ranging from old smartphones to outdated appliances—is accumulating at an alarming rate. India is now one of the largest producers of e-waste globally, and while the need for effective recycling solutions has never been greater, significant hurdles remain. 🔍 Key Challenges: - Inadequate Infrastructure: The lack of formal recycling facilities hampers efficient processing. - Consumer Awareness: Many are unaware of proper e-waste disposal practices, leading to hazardous waste accumulation. - Regulatory Complexities: Licensed recyclers face high compliance costs and complex regulations. - Informal Sector Risks: Small-scale recyclers often operate without safety measures, posing health risks and environmental pollution. Through Sanrakshan, we aim to spotlight innovative solutions and recognize the efforts of those making a difference in e-waste management. Together, we can transform challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth! 💡 Join us in our mission to promote responsible e-waste disposal and create a cleaner, greener India. Let's work towards a future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand! #ProIndia #Sanrakshan #EWasteAwareness #Sustainability #Recycle #GreenIndia

Did you know that the age-old, local tradition of the "Kabadi wala" and the "old clothes in exchange for new utensils" have all but disappeared from the major metropolitan cities in India? Our recycling traditions were an interesting "inclusive" employment opportunity, since anyone, regardless of their educational background, could make a simple living by doing these. It takes recycling 1.34 kgs. It takes recycling 1.34 kgs of waste paper to get 1 kg of paper. Whereas, it can take only 1.05 kgs of wood pulp (from trees) to produce the same 1kg of paper. What doesn’t get captured in the above calculation is that trees also help cool urban (and rural, and forest) environments, provide habitation to other animals and reptiles, provide fruits and food for us, and of course oxygen - which waste paper cannot provide. So, a great way to save trees is to hand over paper waste to your local Kabadiwala The more paper waste you properly collect and send to recycle, the more trees can be saved, and you can make some money. #facts #sustainablilityfacts #psienergy #sustainableworld #sustainability #savetrees #saveplanet #trees #environmentfacts
