The Caribbean has an interesting history, an interesting ongoing story, an interesting people. Consider first, that Islanders Lived there Before The Africans Arrived for Slavery, Consider also that islanders were left Behind after the Abolition of Slavery. It is also interesting to note that the Caribbean Played a Key Part of The Slave Trade, 1) Global Production Output of Key Resources using Slave Labor 2) The Breaking Ground for the slaves being traded themselves. Humanity has Grown Closer, Compassion is foundational to our united human moral code. Nations and people rebuild communities, love has transcended race and color, yet I have found 3 things Growing up on the Island 1) The Caribbean must again awake and compete on the Global Stage, claim its global share in International Commerce, and use the plethora of Resources, Knowledge & Skill and couple it with technology to advance. 2) The Caribbean, though the Omega to modern civilization post slavery, seems to be forgotten when real wealth is distributed. 3) The Caribbean people are Resilient and Proud, and will rebuild on their own if they must. Lyrics; Dready got a job to do, And he's got to fulfill that mission To see his hurt is their greatest ambition But we will survive in this world of competition, Because no matter what they do Natty keep on coming through And no matter what they say Natty do them every day Natty Dread rides again Through the mystics of tomorrow Natty Dread rides again Have no fear, have no sorrow Bob Marley Ride Natty Ride https://hubs.ly/Q02CWfPw0

Really enjoyed taking part in Lymm's Dickensian Day celebrations as a member of the Lymm Big Sing Choir. It's interesting how group activities such as musical involvement or team sports demand very similar skills to business: 👉 You need to be a team player; 👉 There are different stakeholders to handle in their unique ways; 👉 Performance is crucial and requires time and effort to get right. Hobbies such as this also help me to get the work/play balance right. What is your hobby outside of work? #worklifebalance #culture #GoBeyond

NOTHING IS " IMPOSSIBLE" TO ACCOMPLISH ! Simply because, I can learn by listening and recalling whatever I hear, see and/or read IRRESPECTIVE of person, place, subject, trade or circumstances that I pass by or with!
Who should be held responsible if businesses fails to achieve its target!! Obviously it is the HR Director and the personnel of HRD who are solely responsible for failing to achieve the desired goal; simply for being incompetent, incapable, biased or so reluctant to search out, choose, recommend and recruit the right talents and/or person or personnel of worth and/or great impact ! Remember CVs of the extraordinary person or personality usually never found neither organized and complete nor so called eye catching! So, It is your need and priority should come first , to search out even from the crowed jungle and offer if I/we are really competent or extraordinary team player and a leader of changes in your businesses or other political or socioeconomic missions to get it successfully done!!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving everyone #blackwomenempowered #share #fyp

I've been reflecting the past few days on the Race Table Talks session I attended on Saturday facilitated by Laurabel Mba Consulting. Most of us didn't know each other. We came together, as a group of white women, nervous yet eager to participate in a conversation that challenged our inner biases and opened our minds to the racism that persists within ourselves and our communities. Although uncomfortable at times, it was an incredible experience and I strongly recommend all white folx attend. I'm committed to continuing the work to make myself a better ally to the racialized people in my community. We are each born color blind, our stereotypes and biases are learned and deeply engrained. We cannot call ourselves DEI advocates, if we are not intentional about interrupting the cycle in ourselves, our workplaces and most importantly our children. Laurabel will tell you that her son is what inspired her to take on this work, she has inspired me to do better for my son. How do I react when a family member says something racist? I learned the questions to ask myself on if, when and how I should address this with them. What pre-conceived assumptions do I carry that are incorrect? I learned that being racist is not the worst thing. It is an opportunity for acknowledgment and learning, so that tomorrow I will do better. As a business leader, how do I ensure I am fostering a safe an inclusive workplace for our racialized team members? It requires intentional, consistent and continuous effort to make DEI an expected and demonstrable value of our organization. As the mother a Inuk child, I think often about the racism my child will face throughout his life. I will never fully understand his experience or be able to protect him from the injustices he will face. He is a different color than me, when people learn he is adopted, people most commonly say, "He is so lucky". They carry preconceived assumptions and biases about the life he might have had in his Inuit community. I carried them too before his adoption. I know now how wrong they are and am committed to advocating for the empowerment, fair treatment and reconciliation of Indigenous peoples. Follow Laurabel Mba Consulting for enlightenment, education and updates on future events.
Big thanks to everyone who joined Saturday’s Race Table Talks session! Your dedication to self-education and confronting inner biases is instrumental in fostering inclusive and safer environments for racialized individuals within our communities. If you couldn’t make it, fret not! Stay tuned to our social media channels for updates on our upcoming sessions.
