We spoke about:   🏁 Initial challenges: Challenges and mistakes we usually make in the early stages include not putting the client first and focusing too much on the technology or only on one market.   📈 Fundraising efforts: We all agreed how complex and time-consuming fundraising is, but, at the same time, how important it is to spend it carefully.    🛑 Regulation difficulties: Patient data is regulated by the EU, so navigating this when you work on health tech can become quite a challenge. There are mixed feelings about regulation and how we should all be more open to new technologies like AI.   And my own personal advice 👉 choose your time well, create a loyal and committed team, focus on the clients and their needs, and always keep your mission and opinions aligned. 🌟 Exciting times at Foundation 29! 🌟 The Foundation 29 team had the privilege of visiting the Barcelona Children's Hospital Sant Joan de Déu this week, where we are collaborating to co-create a revolutionary tool for generating detailed, comprehensible reports for families receiving a disease diagnosis. Watching geneticists and tech experts come together to develop solutions was exhilarating! The synergy between these brilliant minds is set to have a tremendous impact on how patients and their families understand their conditions and their underlying causes. What truly stood out to me was the focus of our efforts—not just on the technology or the tool (though we definitely had our moments of tech-geeking out! 😄), but on enhancing the PATIENT EXPERIENCE. It's clear to me that AI won't be replacing health professionals anytime soon. The role of a seasoned professional in reviewing results and supporting patients through understanding their diagnosis is irreplaceable. Compassion and empathy are at the heart of patient care and must always accompany the incredible advancements we're making with technology.
