Q1 export data showed a relevant increase in the Made in Italy 🇮🇹 exports to the UAE 🇦🇪 with several industry verticals outpacing the average growth. A perfect match with the Italian excellence four Fs (food, fashion, furniture, factory #tech). Furniture 🛋️ and home #design have seen a +18% Q1 increase in 2024 after a great performance last year, while #fashion 👗👠 products are boosted by a +53% Q1. A great signal for our companies while waiting for the 2024 Dubai Fashion Week and more opportunities in this thriving #UAE market.

Follow me for daily posts about (luxury) retail & innovation ◦ Director Corporate Innovation @ Chalhoub Group ◦ Vogue Business Top 100 Innovator ◦ Dubai, UAE 🇦🇪 ◦ Keynote Speaker
When people ask me about predictions, I always disappoint them. I don't know what's going to happen 🤷♀️ Anyone who tells you differently is trying to scam you. What we can do, however, is look at what's happening right in front of us. And the data is clear... ♻️ Pre-loved & (branded) resale are a KEY TREND in fashion. Last year, secondhand grew 3x faster than the firsthand market... According to ThredUp, resale grew 15x faster than the overall apparel industry and will more than double by 2028. 🚀 Online resale will account for 50% of all secondhand spend by 2025. So far, close to 200 brands have launched their branded resale. At Chalhoub Group, we've been on the circular bandwagon for a while. 👜 At the end of 2022, we launched Level Shoes Pre-Loved, consisting of: - the most exciting assortment of pre-loved luxury handbags, shoes & accessories available for purchase online in the Middle East - Level's own resale service, enabling consumers in the UAE to resell their luxury items through Level Shoes in exchange for store credit or cash back The performance was promising since the start and the numbers have been growing without hesitation. Just like we had been seeing in our trend watching. Needless to say, we quickly had our eyes on expanding the service beyond the UAE territory. 🇸🇦 So it goes without saying that I'm super proud to see that Level Shoes launched its Resale service in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the help of our loyal resale partner Reflaunt and a strong project team led by Rijal Hikmatullah & Armando Saccà. This is the FIRST luxury branded resale service of its kind in Saudi Arabia, where consumers can resell their luxury handbags, shoes & accessories in exchange for Level Shoes credit or cash back. 👏 The initiative underlines 3 very important aspects for me: 1. the ongoing transformation of KSA 2. the continuous innovation drive of Level Shoes 3. the commitment to sustainability of Chalhoub Group Congrats again to Level Shoes and all those who have made this happen! #innovation #sustainability #wearechalhoub #luxury #retail #trends #resale #circular

I am pleased to be featured in the latest AGBI - Arabian Gulf Business Insight article, "Handbags and Gladrags: Price Not an Issue for Dubai’s Fashionistas," authored by Gavin Gibbon. The article highlights the resilience and dynamic nature of Dubai’s luxury market. Despite global economic challenges, Dubai continues to thrive as a premier hub for high-end fashion. Over the past years, we've observed frequent price increases due to global inflation, rising production and transportation costs, supply chain disruptions, and ongoing innovations by luxury brands. As inflation tend to slow down, we expect this trend may ease in the near future. Many thanks Gavin Gibbon for this research. https://lnkd.in/gnf4tUHE
