Summary of my master thesis “ Simulative Investigation of Shockwave Damping on Freeways” by utilizing CAVs is accessible in the link below, at the Department of Mobility Systems Engineering, School of Engineering and Design, TUM website. I did microscopic simulation in Aimsun Next 22.02 and developed two Python algorithms for damping shokcwaves using the capabilities of CAVs and API functionalities of the software.

In order to achieve the promise of Space Research, for the constrained problem spaces of space to spur the development of technology that serves the broader world back home we need to fight now enshrine open principles. As we move out of the era of space as a public good and into the era of commercial space we must make it clear that if Earth is to bear the burden of a developing space industry, it must also share in the benefits. Space may be the final frontier, but contrary to popular narratives, those on the frontier are all the more dependent on others to survive.

We are currently having the fall general assembly of our Transregional Collaborative Research Centre 248 “Foundations of Perspicuous Software Systems” in Dresden. The Center for Perspicuous Computing (CPEC, https://www.cpec.science) as we also call it, is now in the middle of the second four-year funding phase. Our research bridges the areas formal methods, artificial intelligence, and human-computer interaction (incl. visualization). It is about producing explications of systems' behavior that can be turned into human-comprehensible explanations - all that eventually built-in into the complex software systems surrounding us.

Applied Information spoke to Bedan Khanal , a PhD student at Wayne State University in Detroit, about his important his research on video analytics for traffic safety measures. His work involves collecting and analyzing video data from intersections to identify risky events, such as speeding and red-light running, and correlating these events with near-miss incidents to assess intersection safety.
