👉 Is the Scandinavian design and furniture fair scene dead? 👈 Scandinavia's competition for dominance in the furniture fair scene is intensifying as Stockholm Furniture Fair and 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen gear up for 2025. For many years Stockholm Furniture Fair has been the leader, known for its large-scale exhibitions that attract global brands and set trends in Nordic design. The strength was its ability to draw a large number of visitors and participants, offering a vast professional network. However, the cost of exhibiting has become a growing concern, with high booth fees, the challenge of constructing temporary spaces and and country in a deep recession. Beyond the financial strain, there's a significant environmental impact, from materials used to build stands to the waste generated during the event. For companies striving to improve their sustainability efforts, this approach conflicts with their future goals. The traditional trade fair model feels increasingly outdated and out of sync with today's global challenges—a trend that has become even more apparent in recent years, especially since the pandemic. Another drawback of Stockholm's event is its timing — it takes place in February, the coldest week of the year (Week 6) compared to other fairs. The harsh winter weather limits outdoor activities and dampens the overall experience. In contrast, 3 Days of Design held in summer month of June in Copenhagen, offers a intimate, international outdoor party experience. Focused on smaller exhibits and more permanent showrooms which is perceived as more sustainable. It provides visitors with a personal, hands-on networking atmosphere and a more down to earth inviting atmosphere. However, the timing of next year’s event falls during the Swedish holiday Midsommar which doesn't feel so well thought out. It means they will likely lose a significant number (if not all) of the Swedish guests, manufacturers and Swedish staff that works at the Danish companies, as many will be home celebrating their favorite holiday. Next year will be incredibly exciting to watch unfold. Will Stockholm Furniture Fair finally step up, make the necessary changes, and get things right what the market and manufacturers are looking for? And will the organization behind 3 Days move forward without its Swedish audience and manufacturers and lose a large part of their Scandinavian market?? Stay tuned... hashtag #FurnitureDesign hashtag #ScandinavianDesign hashtag #StockholmFurnitureFair hashtag #Stockholms

Innovation marketing for high-end market, with the mission of transforming the marketing and communications of heritage and modern brands into assets that generate growth | Supporter of the culture of modern business
Creative epicenter. We are at the start of what we can define as the biggest and most important expression of creativity in the world. I will never tire of repeating that, for those in the industry and beyond, this is an extraordinary week with a multitude of things to see, people to meet, and opportunities to seize. Tomorrow marks the beginning of a new edition of Milan Design Week, with events at the furniture fair in Rho and activities throughout the city. The early warm and sunny days of spring host a unique opportunity to view projects, new products, and various activations, featuring major brands, established companies, and new ventures. There's a desire for innovation at every corner, with small to medium-sized entities striving to produce new ideas and large brands investing in design-related projects and lifestyle. The assortment of initiatives is so extensive that just selecting the best ones to see can be challenging. If we see it as a major platform for opportunities and relationships, it's an unmissable event, particularly due to the concentration of creative minds in the industry, as well as from fashion, creativity, and many other fields that make design an essential lever for their products and services. 🙌 What’s your take? # 317 EVENTS, Italy 👉 More content on our website and subscribe to the weekly newsletter; the link to the featured news is in the first comment below. 🎯 If you want to learn more about our transformative approach to generating growth (yes, what we call innovation marketing!), feel free to write me privately. Tradeshow Marketing Manager | Empathetic, Creative Professional | Fixated on Creating Meaningful Events & Experiences
My series on key trends for B-to-B expos continues with thoughts on how to stay current + cost-conscious! Event Expo Trend #3: Modular and Flexible Booth Designs ✔ CUSTOMIZABLE CONFIGURATIONS: Modular booth designs allow exhibitors to adapt their displays to different expo sizes and requirements. These designs often incorporate movable walls, reconfigurable furniture, and versatile signage. #BobTip - This trend is so important in keeping your brand feeling updated and on-trend, while staying responsible to the bottom line. An on-site experience that consistently amplifies your company's brand essence, overall marketing message and current sales priorities is key…while freshening up exhibit designs from show to show and from year to year helps your brand avoid attendees walking by and saying, "Oh, I've seen these guys before, same stuff." When you reconfigure your event presence, it sends the message that your company is focused on innovation and attendees will naturally want to see "what's new.” ✔ PORTABLE AND LIGHTWEIGHT STRUCTURES: The trend towards portability ensures that displays are easier to transport, set up, and take down, which is crucial for companies attending multiple events. #BobTip - With increasing shipping costs year over year, having a structure that is lightweight and made with the latest technology for sustainable materials will greatly reduce shipping costs from event to event, and save your overall budget. You'll also want to work with your exhibit house to make sure they are using creates or containers that best keep shipping costs down and high-quality materials that keep your investment safe. 🌟Keep an eye out for the next round of trends and tips, coming soon!🌟 #EventManagement #CustomerEngagement #LeadGeneration

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Informa Markets for recognizing our sustainability efforts with the prestigious 'Better Stands Silver' award at Hospitalar. 🏆 With the Better Stands Initiative, the organizer behind Hospitalar wants to improve the sustainability of trade fairs and aims to eliminate waste from trade fair stands by 2030. The initiative focuses on the reusability of materials such as walls, floors, and furniture. We are thrilled to receive this award and remain dedicated to developing sustainable solutions —not only at trade fairs. 🍃 Here's an overview of the award categories ⬇️ Better Stands Bronze: Stands at this level must have 100% reusable components, including walls, floors, furniture, equipment, and lighting. The goal is to achieve this standard at all Informa Markets events by next year. Better Stands Silver: Stands at this level must meet the criteria for bronze. In addition, all structural objects, front and ceiling signage, and ceiling and exhibition displays must be reusable. Better Stands Gold: This highest level includes all the elements of bronze and silver and encompasses graphics, decorative items, and floor coverings to ensure no waste. #KLSMartin #KLSMartinGroup #SurgicalInnovationisOurPassion #Hospitalar #Hospitalar2024 Please note that not all products are available in all markets. Founder + Director Helping brands stand out and stay ahead, driving valuable business growth and visibility with strategic PR, brand and digital campaigns.
Since the Covid pandemic trade shows and fairs have been, I think we can all agree, somewhat lacking in both attendance and inspiration. As many brands cut their Marketing budgets and moved to promote themselves and their products in more creative digital ways, many have become more selective about the fairs at which they exhibit, if they even exhibit at all. As a PR, clients often ask me of their real value, and more so than ever, their relevancy. So how do we re-energise trade fairs? What is the future? These are some of the questioned posed by Max Fraser in an interesting thought piece on Dezeen. The 72nd edition of Stockholm Design Week and Furniture fair was held earlier this month and whilst smaller than previous iterations, it really did feel more connected, and more captivating. The topics of climate change and sustainability were just some of the key themes explored by designers and studios, continuing important conversations around craftsmanship, material sourcing, education, and circular design. With Milan Design Week on the horizon, I’m excited to see how this year’s fair really engages similar conversations of innovation, evolution, and sustainability. The main theme for Milan Design Week 2024 will be, “Materia Natura” a concept that encourages the exploration of matter and nature and with the announcement that for the 62nd edition of Salone del Mobile auteur David Lynch will be a key contributor unveiling a major installation, this year’s fair looks set to be an impactful platform and ideas exchange.
With trade shows falling on hard times, this year Stockholm Furniture Fair set itself on a new path. In this feature, I explore whether other fairs can learn from the Swedes' approach. Dezeen
