Challenging times. Vigilance and Intelligence Gathering are the keys to Safety and Security.
In light of the recent attempted assassination of former President Trump, we are experiencing the highest levels of physical security threats in generations. Alpha Recon strongly advises all security, guard force, and EP professionals to exercise heightened vigilance around government facilities and political events. This includes the upcoming RNC conference and other public gatherings due to the heightened risk of retaliatory actions, particularly for assets or principals with government or political ties under protection.

It's time for digital de-risking. From Emily Harding: "Over at least the last year, [China's] Volt Typhoon has gained access to about two dozen entities [including water, port, and pipelines]. To hide their efforts, they [. . . ] used compromised home and office routers as vectors for the attacks." And: "With regard to China’s attacks, security firms likely found only a small percentage of embedded Chinese code. Imagine that the United States finds itself needing to deploy rapidly to defend an ally in the Pacific, but the base on Guam has no power, Hawaii’s traffic system is haywire and water systems are nonfunctional, and unexplained blackouts in Texas require intervention from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the president’s attention. This scenario is not a stretch—Russia has carried out similar activity in Ukraine. The difference was that Ukraine was ready." #cybersecurity Shaun Waterman Didi Kirsten Tatlow Rick Switzer

In my latest piece, I argue that the US is thinking about cyber attacks too much like natural disasters, not like hostile attacks by a foreign power. Remember when a terrorist entity messed with water infrastructure? No? It happened. Remember when China infiltrated power and fuel infrastructure so they could keep our troops from deploying to a Taiwan contingency? No? Both these things happened in the last few months. Addressing Failures and Global Implications: The Importance of Transparency and Planning in American Politics Dr. Turki Faisal Al Rasheed #TurkiFaisalAlRasheed comments at the #Washingtonpost 1. The American president's Secret Service must first acknowledge its failures to both the American people and the global community. 2. The Secret Service should provide a comprehensive account of its failure to protect Mr. Trump. The individual who attempted to assassinate him should never have been able to use an AR-15-style rifle or gain access to the rooftop near Mr. Trump's location. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle should openly address these shortcomings without engaging in a blame game. 3. The Secret Service needs to demonstrate to the American public that its agents can effectively manage the risks associated with retail politicking. This includes allowing presidential candidates to engage with voters closely and enabling voters to assess their leaders without fear. 4. While American elections primarily concern domestic affairs, it is crucial not to underestimate the geopolitical implications they carry. The United States plays a significant role in global decision-making, particularly during periods of geopolitical shifts. The world cannot continue trading with a country that engages in uncontrolled printing of currency. 5. Let's consider the ongoing war in Gaza, which the United States has failed to halt despite being Israel's main supporter and arms supplier. As the only country with the power to end the conflict and initiate a path towards peace, the US must take responsibility. The next president's alignment with the priorities of the European Union and NATO will also be a matter of concern for them, whether it pertains to counterterrorism efforts, piracy, or maritime security. 6. Given the unparalleled authority wielded by American presidents, the identity of the occupant in the White House holds significant importance for the rest of the world. It would be prudent to begin planning for various scenarios that may arise on January 20, 2025, when a new presidential term commences. https://lnkd.in/dcAHFwqM @washingtonpost @PostOpinions #Petrodollar

This article picks up from my previous post. Rep. Tim Burchett is already looking into the matter of Tulsi Gabbard being placed on the TSA’s terrorist watchlist known as the Quiet Skies Program. This is deeply concerning and should be disturbing to all Americans including Congressional and Senate members whom I referenced in my previous post in pointing out that this program failed to even protect its own Senate and Congressional leaders based on the events of 1/6 and everything leading up to that day that could have been prevented. What we know already of 1/6 are the number of white nationalist and white supremacist groups that are being classified as terrorist organizations. Why weren’t any members of those groups added to this watchlist and thereby allowed to breach the Capital on 1/6. This is a national security issue as well as a violation of one’s 1st Amendment and 4th Amendment rights. Tulsi Gabbard is not the only individual who was added to this list. People have been added to this list without being interviewed or interrogated by a member of the FBI or Secret Service so no official protocol is being followed. Some individuals have been added to this list as a means of discrimination based on political views or racial profiling thus violating their civil liberties.

Author, Asia Power Watch, Homeland Security Today, NATO COE / Terrorism, Lecturer at ASPI Forum, Author: Narrative Warfare, Primer & Study Guide, Modern Day Minutemen and Women, The Art of Influence: Narrative Strategy
New today from TAT/ Truth about Threats For those of you interested in Narrative Warfare, here's something current and relevant, to ponder. When narrative is the problem, it is also the solution. Too bad that the US national security community refuses to learn what #NarrativeWarfare really is. Instead, they waste our hard-earned tax dollars on alleged experts like EdgeTheory who haven't the slightest notion of what narrative is and is not. To make matters worse, the US national security community continues to invest in these fraudulent enterprises such as the National Center for Narrative Intelligence at University of Mississippi. Ladies and gentlemen, the US and NATO are getting their butts handed to them in on the cognitive battlefield and have, for four decades. They invest in utter nonsense and still pay exorbitant fees to the same alleged experts and defense contractors that have failed us for decades. There is absolutely nothing of potential value being fielded in the industry. Certainly nothing of operational value. The United States Department of Defense could hardly be more impotent in this realm and still depend on the same bs doctrine, with new names that have also failed for decades. Let's not let the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) off the hook either. It is they who are charged with domestic responsibilities to protect the US and its citizens from all adversarial threats, of which malign influence, is the most acute during our election cycle. If we continue to elect leaders that support fraudulent contractors rather than those who produce results, the danger lies on the shoulders of voters, equally with those who are fraudulent. Had the community listened to experienced experts in 2015 and taken action, Russia and MAGA would have failed. Now... they are a perpetual part of the threatscape. Shame on contracting officials, senior leaders and failed congressional oversight.
