After the Implico Academy Kickoff Conference in Dallas, TX, Micah's favorite part was "chatting with my coworkers about their different takes on everyday challenges and their passions outside of work was a fantastic learning experience. The first month of my internship as a graphic designer in meta² design studio at School of visual communication has ended. During this month, I created posts and cards dedicated to the holidays for one client according to his brand book. In the beginning, my visuals looked like a jumble of everything that came into my head. It’s even a pity that I didn’t save all the previous versions of each visual to see my path from chaos to order, from excess to minimalism. My mentor led me along this path and taught me to build a system, adhere to its rules when creating each visual, see the essence, sweep aside the unnecessary and inappropriate. The work went slowly, I again and again went beyond the system, layered unnecessary things, and my mentor again and again brought me back to order. Sometimes it was annoying 🙂 But I learned to look at design through the eyes of my experienced mentor, to notice the smallest details. This requires patience and concentration - those important qualities that you need to develop in yourself in this world of endless noise, bustle and chaos. Word-emotion: ORDER

My internship as a graphic designer in meta² design studio at School of visual communication has been going on for more than two months now. Recently, I had to work on presentations, schemes, templates for mailing. It was a work with order and following the system. Given my analytical background, these tasks did not cause significant difficulties. Continuing the internship, communicating with experienced designers, you feel how piece by piece the overall design system is increasingly woven into your thinking and your life. I am one of those people who move slowly. I often criticize myself for this. At such moments, I remember the words of my mentor Nataliia Syniepupova, who told me: Sveta, you just do and your time will come. I mentally rely on these words and then a path and a vector appear. 🤔 Can We Create Animations Using PowerPoint? 🤔 Of course, we can! ✨ A few months ago, when I was interning at 24Slides, there was a challenging test for us, Graphic Design Interns. In the middle of our busy schedule, we were given an animation test. We had to create a short 10-second animation that contained a few sentences and various 24Slides portfolios with 24Slides' signature design style. The main challenge was to understand the brief without being given additional instructions or allowed to ask questions, so each intern had to work on their own understanding. On top of that, we also had to match the animation movement with the beat backsound, while making sure all the content fit within the 10-second duration. I did everything using PowerPoint. Alhamdulillah, I managed to finish it in a few hours, while looking for examples of suitable animations and backsounds from YouTube. The keyword I used on YouTube was "simple short stomp typography animation." 🖌 In my opinion, this was one of the most fun assignments because I could explore PowerPoint more deeply with the challenge of a short video duration. Thanks to Mbak Mira Marika and Mas Bryan Hendra for giving us this assignment, hehehe. Enjoy this animated video! A: I think the greatest challenge facing the industry is the need for fresh blood’’. We seem to be able to communicate in amongst ourselves, but getting the message beyond that is a challenge. I've been lucky enough to be involved in reaching out to new career opportunities for the younger generation and I've seen the excitement over the technology that this industry has, but honestly I think that we sometimes fall asleep at the wheel when it comes to being comfortable about sharing with the world what we have, and what that technology can do for them. We hear it all the time, the same discussion about the difficulty in finding people, but we sometimes overlook the opportunities to capitalise on the people who are already expressing interest. I was lucky to be nurtured by the business that offered me an apprenticeship; we need as an industry to invest and be accountable for training the next generation.
