🎄 "Christmas isn’t about what you get; it’s about what you give." 🎁 As the holiday season draws near, it’s a perfect time for leaders, teams, and organizations to reflect on the power of giving back—not just as individuals but as a collective community. In workplaces and beyond, embracing a culture of giving—whether through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, team volunteer programs, or thoughtful gestures of care—creates ripple effects that benefit everyone. It strengthens relationships, builds trust with stakeholders, and enriches the lives of employees and customers alike. This season, let’s not only focus on achieving business goals but also on addressing the challenges of isolation and vulnerability that so many face at this time of year. A small investment of time, resources, or care can yield immeasurable returns: a stronger sense of community, shared purpose, and the fulfillment of knowing you’ve made a difference. ✨ How can your organization or team give back this season? Let’s share ideas and celebrate the ways we can create a brighter holiday for all. #wellbeing #givingback #connection #gratitude

This Thanksgiving, I’m reflecting on the incredible power of support—in both our personal and professional lives. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been navigating recovery after surgery, and the outpouring of love and care I’ve received has been nothing short of humbling: 🌸 My mother flew in to care for my daughters, so I could focus on healing. 🌸 Friends sent flowers, thoughtful messages, and home-cooked meals that nourished my body and spirit. 🌸 My partner showed up, consistently and wholeheartedly, reminding me that true support is a gift we can all give. This experience reminded me of the human element that connects us all—not just in our personal lives, but also in our professional spaces. In the workplace, showing up for our colleagues with empathy and understanding isn’t just “nice to have”—it’s the foundation of thriving teams. When we feel supported, we show up rested, inspired, and able to give our best. As women, especially career-driven women and mothers, we often carry the weight of balancing it all. But here’s the truth: prioritizing ourselves and leaning on our community isn’t selfish—it’s essential for showing up fully in all aspects of life. Let’s normalize making space for rest, recovery, and growth—whether we’re at home or in the office. Are you ready to prioritize yourself this holiday season? ➡️My e-guide, Own Your Power: A Badass Guide to Courage, Confidence, and Self-Prioritization, is here to help you embrace self-prioritization and show up for life with renewed energy and purpose. 📌 Download the guide⬇️ https://lnkd.in/d_4jD8QX This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the people who’ve shown up for me—and I’m committed to continuing to pay it forward. How will you support your community and yourself this season? Let’s start the conversation. #Thanksgiving2024 #GratitudeInLeadership #WomenInWorkplace #SelfPrioritization #EmpoweredWomen #CareerGrowth #HumanConnection #WorkplaceWellBeing #OwnYourPower #PersonalDevelopment

How was your Friendsgiving? Did you know “Friendsgiving" has grown by 44% in popularity over the last five years? According to Google data, the term didn’t start showing up at a significant level until 2013, but now about a quarter of younger adults and over one in ten older folks celebrate this take on Thanksgiving (Source: CivicScience). While this trend reflects demographic shifts (such as people having fewer children later — so more time for friends vs. family), this modern tradition also reflects a growing cultural value: connecting on our own terms. Creating new traditions that work for us (think also: “Galentine’s Day”). It’s about leaning less into obligation and more into chosen community — a trend brands can learn from. At Open Mind Strategy, we’re always tracking shifts like these to help brands connect with what matters most to their audiences. We’d love to help your brand understand how to tap into cultural moments that can spark meaningful brand opportunities. #ConsumerInsights #Friendsgiving #CulturalTrends

Forgiving Fridays Recently, I’ve a poor experience with a food caterer. Not only were they 3-hours late, they left behind remaining furniture that weren’t collected for more than a month. I love the aesthetic of the food display and decided to engage them despite their exorbitant fees. I have heard their explanation but not good enough. Why do I say so? 1. There wasn’t proactiveness in informing about being late on the actual day. Zero communication till I texted and called. 2. There wasn’t customer service recovery despite not giving full sets of items as quoted and the lateness. 3. No initiation to arrange pick-up for remaining items at client’s location. Even if promised to come, they didn’t turn up until I mentioned to discard (which was after a month). Clearly those claimed company assets aren’t important. Poor quality ❌ buy (again) Poor service ❌buy (again) Poor attitude ❌ buy (again) I don’t always look at the company logos collected or engaged by collaborators or partners. Those are mostly a reference to me. I buy through my personal engagement with them. Never believe they will give quality when they don’t even have the basic courtesy. I may be wrong but I’ve been proven correct time after time. Murphy law = Anything that can go wrong will go wrong I have it happened to me before as well. However, the way we actively respond to unforeseen circumstances can turn awry situations to awesome endings. Nonetheless, we aren’t perfect. We keep getting better than ourselves each time we try. #forgivingfridays are liberating. Encounter any poor services lately? As the year winds down, it’s easy to get caught up in the noise, the endless to-do lists, the inbox that never quite empties, and the pressure to squeeze out just a little more before the clock strikes midnight on December 31st. But what if we gave ourselves permission to filter out the chatter? This season offers a rare moment to pause, reflect, and focus on what truly matters: the connections that ground us, the work that inspires us, and the moments of quiet that help us recharge. For me, it’s about stepping back to soak in time with family and friends, revisiting the “why” behind my work, and creating space to breathe. It’s about revitalizing not just my energy but my perspective—so I can step into the new year not just ready to go, but ready to grow. What’s calling your attention as we close this chapter and prepare for the next? How are you making space to carry forward what matters most? Here’s to a fresh start, aligned priorities, and a year that reflects the best of who we are and what we do. #Reflection #Rethink #MentalHealth #Wellbeing BetterUp SHRM Mika Cross Claude Silver Jen Marr NAMI Wondermind Victor Santiago Pineda Valuable 500 Disability:IN Disability Belongs National Retail Federation National Organization on Disability Jerry Colonna Jamie Shields Celia Chartres-Aris (née Hensman) Dustin Giannelli🦻🏼 Molly Burke Chris Ruden Tiffany A. A seasonal message from me to you As we approach the close of another year, it’s time to reflect. The good, the bad, the ugly (we’ve all had something we could call ugly this year). This season is a reminder of what truly matters: the connections we nurture, the care we extend, and the joy we find in those connections both personal and professional. As we pause to celebrate the season or to simply have a reset, let’s also take a moment to appreciate our impact. We’ve all in one way or another been able to positively impact or influence a connection and that matters. To everyone reading this. I wish you and yours peace, joy, and fulfillment this season and beyond. Let’s move into the new year knowing the value we bring, knowing the strength we have and knowing we do good. #PeaceAndJoy #Fulfillment #HRCommunity #WellBeingAtWork #Inclusion #Growth #knowYourWorth #CelebrateSuccess #Connect #Networking

The holiday season is all about connection—gathering together, sharing stories, and building bonds. But for so many marginalized people, the spaces where connection should feel safest are often the places where their voices go unheard. I’ve lived that experience—sitting in rooms where my presence was dismissed, my contributions overlooked, and my identity reduced to a box checked on someone else’s agenda. This season, let’s commit to something deeper than holiday cheer. Let’s commit to making space for the voices that are too often ignored. Whether it’s at the dinner table, in the workplace, or within your own circle, take the time to listen, learn, and uplift. It’s not enough to invite someone to the table if you aren’t ready to hear what they have to say. My DEI programs are designed to help teams and organizations go beyond performative inclusion. They focus on creating environments where everyone—especially those from marginalized communities—feels truly heard, respected, and valued. If you’re ready to give the gift of psychological safety this holiday season, let’s work together. https://lnkd.in/gb3fFhGH

"Ending the Year With Intention and Connection" The end of the year often brings a call to slow down, but for me, this season is about channeling all my energy into meaningful connection. For the practitioners I guide, and their clients, this time of year can feel intense. But here’s the thing: not everyone celebrates the same holidays or even feels the same rhythm at this time. Diversity reminds us that different cultures honor different moments throughout the year—and meaningful connection means respecting and reflecting that in our approach. For those navigating family dynamics, financial stress, or seasonal pressures, connecting deeply matters more than ever. This isn’t just about showing up—it’s about being dialed in. Your messaging should: 🪶 Educate and empower clients based on their unique realities. 🪶 Offer resources that resonate with what they’re experiencing. 🪶 Speak to deeper pain points with care and understanding. To focus fully, I intentionally pause other areas of my operations, allowing me to channel my energy where it’s needed most. For me, it's doing what matters in ways that honor the diverse experiences of those we serve. When we show up with intention, understanding, and respect, we don’t just support clients through the season—we build trust and connection that transcends it. How are you leaning into meaningful, inclusive connection this season? #reimagineinclusivemarketing #counselling #inclusionmatters #healthandwellness #mentalhealth #traumainformed #reimagininginclusivemarketing
