We're excited to announce our Industry 4.0 Engineering Manager Tim Hess has been invited to attend Freedom's Forge 2.0, hosted by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Jan. 22-24 in Houston, Texas. The invitation-only workshop will focus on how to reimagine U.S. manufacturing to build agile and scalable defense technology. We're honored to be included in the discussion. "This event aligns with Integer's priorities in supporting the DoD with decision support technologies applied to advanced manufacturing, a really important topic. We need to make sure we're supporting the manufacturing industry that is vital to national security. It will be a great opportunity to network with others in the industry, find ways to collaborate, and learn more about how we can help DARPA and DoD." - Tim Hess #manufacturing #IntegerTechnologies #FreedomsForge2 #DoD #DARPA #defense

One of my favorite guides for navigating complex, ambiguous situations is MCDP 1-3 Tactics (another gem from the Marine Corps!). It dives into the concept of combined arms—using multiple, coordinated approaches to gain an advantage. This isn’t just military strategy; it’s a mindset that applies everywhere, especially in sales. 💡 Let’s talk about how you start the sales motion. ⚠️ The feature dump trap is waiting for you right there at the starting line. If your opening act is just: “Look at all these cool things we can do!”, congrats—you’re officially "every Tom, Dick, and Harry" slinging whiz-bang solutions. 🙄 Spoiler: That’s not how you win deals. ✅ Here’s what works instead: 🎯 Bring multiple perspectives to the table. Whether it’s operational, technical, financial, or regulatory, show you’re thinking strategically. 🎯 Leverage the 5 Passes Framework. Use it to create structure and depth, shifting the focus to solving real problems—not just showcasing shiny features. 💪 Start strong. Prove you’re a strategic thinker, not just another vendor. Show your prospect that their success—not your product—is at the center of your approach. 🎯 First impressions matter. The way you begin the conversation sets the tone for everything that follows. 📣 What’s your take? How do you avoid the feature dump trap? Drop your thoughts below! 👇 #SalesExcellence #StrategicSelling #CybersecuritySales #B2BSales #AskMikeGall

The Forging Industry Association is launching a new campaign to highlight the industry's critical role in supporting the defense industrial base and unveiling the results of a new survey by accounting firm Wipfli that shows significant untapped capacity to meet the Pentagon's urgent needs. Forged products are feeding the aerospace, automotive, space, mining, transportation, semiconductor, clean energy, medical, and construction industries. And when it comes to national security, these companies operate the furnaces, hammers, and presses that heat, shape and convert raw metals and alloys into the forgings that make up the backbone of our armed forces and those of our allies. Some big takeaways: 63% of forgers surveyed currently do work within the defense industry. On average they are operating at only 51% of available capacity. And it's even lower, or 41% utilization, for companies that are primarily doing defense work. “Washington is making historic investments in our technological edge to compete in this new era of great power competition. But the North American forging industry is at risk of being neglected – by a combination of inattention from government authorities, a stubborn myth that it lacks sufficient capacity to meet demand, and trade policies that hobble us and aid our adversaries," says FIA CEO Jim Warren. “There is ample untapped capacity to do additional work to support our armed forces," he added. "However, an overly cumbersome defense acquisition system and unpredictable material shortages stymies the nation’s ability to tap into the industry’s capacity, even as the Department of Defense’s needs are growing.” From Colin Demarest in Axios' Future of Defense newsletter today: "These guys make possible tanks, warships, aircraft, missiles and more. It would be wise to take heed, as resources win wars." The Forging Industry Association, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, represents 231 North American metal forging producers, suppliers, and service providers. In the U.S. that includes 152 plants in 38 states and more than 36,000 skilled workers. https://lnkd.in/dVkiQtmw Re: Building Defense | Next Steps for the Pentagon in 2025 Dec 18, 2024 Hudson Institute The list of to-dos facing Congress and the Pentagon to rebuild America’s defense industrial base is comprehensive but imperative for American security in this great power competition. The next step is to implement and scale these ideas. Below are three top items for the Department of Defense’s 2025 checklist to achieve this. The To-Do List 1. Rebuild comprehensively. 2. Adopt a mass production mindset. 3. Focus on joint experimentation to develop real-world solutions. Sketching Out the Details 1. Take a comprehensive approach. 2. Behave like a titan of industry, not an art connoisseur. 3. Pursue joint experimentation to solve real-world problems at scale.
