Today the Wits Cloudathon just ended. I attended during the judging phase and stayed up until the prize giving phase.😄 The cloudathon lasted 2 days from 27 July 2024 to 28 July 2024. It was hosted by Devrico, BoxFusion, Naked Insurance and Syft etc. I got to meet my seniors(2nd, 3rd year students) in BSc in computer science at wits as I'm a 1st year.😁 I had the opportunity of gaining advise and knowledge from Devrico staff about the computer science industry. I got to listen a bit to the presentations and conversations between judges and teams on their projects and solutions. I took notes and met a few new people.🤓👌🏾 It was a first for me and I was only there for 2 hours but I learned so much. I saw that there's so much I have to learn about cloud computing, how to use some cloud service providers like AWS, Azure, IBM cloud and Google cloud. 📚💡 I also learned that I could work with existing AIs in my projects to make them more useful and user friendly. A lot more happened that I can't fit all the details in my post but it is a story for another day.🙂 Most of what I saw and heard was new to me so it was exciting and the prize giving ceremony got me really pumped up to sign up for the hackathons/cloudathons to come.🤔😤 My goal now is to learn about cloud computing and how to incorporate AI into my future projects. ⭐ #Hackathon #cloudathon2024
