The catalyst for a sustainable agriculture transition? Biochar. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Foundation just released a new report confirming that “biochar is a potent and stable climate measure that can capture and store CO2 from agriculture for centuries.” Similar to how wind became a stable renewable technology for the energy sector, biochar has the same potential to bring sustainability to the agricultural industry. Looking for a deep dive into what biochar is capable of? Check out the CIP Foundation’s research on biochar’s incredible impact on agriculture: https://bit.ly/3vGIZna

#Biochar: a charcoal-like material, produced by heating organic matter to an extremely high temperature in a low-oxygen environment, that can store carbon for up to thousands of years. But, the benefits of biochar don't stop at #CCUS. The matter has numerous practical applications, including ushering in a sustainable agricultural transition by remediating harmful #PFAS from soil. Have you heard about agrivoltaics? I had this idea while driving through the country the other day, and looked into if anyone was already doing this. Looks like this is a cutting edge strategy, still in the piloting phase. Seems like it would be a great idea to support 2 important infrastructures at once: food production and green energy. 🌱☀️ https://lnkd.in/g6uvkvbp.
