The LEGO Group and Foundation emphasizes the importance of play in children’s development, and I wholeheartedly agree. My own journey as a businesswoman was shaped by creativity and solution-oriented thinking, sparked by a childhood experience. One summer at my grandmother’s house, my cousin and I picked lemons to sell at my aunt’s pharmacy. We priced them too low and learned a valuable lesson when a customer bought them all. Realizing the need for better value, we turned those lemons into lemonade, selling it at a higher price. This taught us the power of transforming raw materials into valuable products, a lesson I carry into my professional life today. • Creativity: Use what’s around you to innovate. • Value Creation: Transform raw materials into products that solve problems. • Business Development: Focus on solutions that benefit others. Let’s foster creativity and play to build better futures.

Do you want to accelerate your business impact and recognition by utilising 3D graphics technology? Then you've come to the right place!! Creative developer | Consultant
There are a number of 3D creation tools available at the moment - such as Niantic Studio from 8th Wall -> https://lnkd.in/eKzdC4Tp, which has been dubbed as "Unity for the web", and Spline -> https://spline.design/ which lets you create 3D content. Coupled with AI tooling and potentially more no-code platforms evolving, where do you see the role of a 3D developer in the near future? Are we just going to be working for the companies making the tools? Will we just use the tools to create our 3D experiences? Will we all be out of a job pretty soon 😲!? Will it offer more ways to be creative? Will it open the 3D field to more people? I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts and reassure me where the industry is headed 😊! #3dgraphics #technology #webxr #webdev

Ed Gartin and I talk about how It’s not enough to come up with the concept, make a prototype, and pitch it; working in this industry is also about working with the companies who license your products. If you’re lucky enough to have a company that includes you in its process, asks you to do a review, or reaches out to you for some input or help, there are some things to do and some things NOT to do. In this video, we discuss that. #TLDW: 👍 Remember they are the experts about their target market and consumers. 👍 They have a vested interest in your product's success, too; they didn’t license your concept for fun. 👍 They will make choices, changes, and decisions that they believe will drive more sales. If you trust them enough to license your concept to them, trust them enough to develop the best item for their target market. 👍 Be constructive in your feedback and not critical. You’re in this together, you’re on the same team, and you want the same thing. ✅ Also, Research, Research, Research, know who you’re pitching to, what kind of company they are, who their customers are, and what kind of products they make. You’re going to be more successful in pitching, and it’s unlikely that you’ll be surprised on the back end. #games #play #designer #gameindustry #create #innovation #invent #fun #inventor #gaming

Does your brand need to be more innovative? Are you not tapping into markets where there’s potential for business growth? We can help with that. When working with a big tech company that wanted to expand its offerings to create better experiences for gamers, Conifer uncovered insights by utilizing multi-ethnographic research methods. With that, we uncovered 4 key opportunities for a tech company to improve the gaming experience and created a custom design and visual framework to help guide an ideation workshop for brand impact. https://hubs.ly/Q02611KJ0 #conifer #ethnographicresearch #mrx #designthinking #innovation

When I was at uni, we were introduced to “the production lego game”. This was a collaborative strategy group game scripted in a way that traditional manufacturing methods fail and lean methods prevail. I didn’t get that at the time and I went into my modus operandi of “let’s take control, outsmart the game and beat it”. Others didn’t play along. I was frustrated, we all lost.. every single team. After munching my lunch in a defeated slumped posture, we went to round 2 and played by the new rules. Nobody was in charge, we did less and produced more. I enjoyed my time and opened my mind a bit as I relaxed because I felt the system was safe. I was hooked ever since. There are many games like that. A friend of mine does it with paper planes. He is actually really clever he invented a game for teaching quality principles and we ran it for school kids. A senior manager in one of our US subsidiaries ran it with beads and safety pins (lego was more fancy) then went on to become a CEO. But something was always missing in these games. The team came out of the game with two conclusions. (1) they understood the superiority of lean methods over traditional ways and (2) they had no agreement or no idea of how to put this in practice. I was doing pricing strategies for a theatre company who diversified into team building exercises using their circus skills; it became their core business that fundrd their theatre work. Team building games were a hallmark of the noughties, but as I organised or took part in a few, the same feeling of the lego game seeped into my soul. There was something missing. Those that I didn’t like stayed in the bad books and I shared extra memories with those that I already liked. The problem with scripted team games is that they are taster events that try to simulate what is possible rather than deliver the actual results. The idea of these games is not to pay a consultant to run them once and everyone will be happy ever after. The idea is that they will be the icebreakers from the stagnant environment of politics and tension, but the real work is to transform the culture so people would drop their guards more and reduce resorting to jiujitsu methods of working. It’s been 19 years since I played the game and only recently that I realised it wasn’t the beads and bins or the legos and the airplanes. Quality starts when humans humble themselves more to sit with each other, drop their guards and build a simple system of work and communication that will foster improvement. How do they do that? By sutting beside each other more often and working together more often and dropping their guards more often. The point is not the game. The point is creating a reason for people to get together. This is the job of the leaders.
