Today is R U OK? Day and inCommunity Inc, and our brands of inCommunity Connect Tenancy Skills Institute and Beddown, are inspired to get behind this message, today and any day! Together, we understand the power of meaningfully connecting with people and starting conversations with those in the world who may be struggling with life. So to raise awareness of this message, the inCommunity Connect team are now using the R U OK? Playing Cards (which double as conversation starters) across our programs. The cards have been a huge hit at Womens Club and for the young people at Hargreaves House Crisis Accommodation so far - so it's a sure thing we will continue using these special cards in the weeks and months ahead too! #RUOKDay2024 #ruokanyday

This fun activity enhances quick reflexes and hand-eye coordination, vital for improving overall athleticism. The need to swiftly grab the ball and decide on a route to escape fosters rapid decision-making under pressure, similar to game-time scenarios in football . Running to the gates while avoiding being tagged improves speed, agility, and spatial awareness. Additionally, it promotes competitive spirit, resilience, and physical fitness, while also being a fun and engaging way to develop crucial motor skills and social interaction among children. Children bouncing the basketball within a moving hula hoop, pulled by a partner, helps them develop coordination, ball control, and hand-eye coordination. It requires them to adjust their dribbling rhythm to the hoop's movement, enhancing their ability to adapt to dynamic situations on the court. Similarly, dribbling outside the hoop while walking inside it challenges their spatial awareness, footwork, and dribbling skills, making them more versatile players with better control in various game scenarios. These activities also promote teamwork and communication between the dribbler and their partner, reinforcing essential social skills. #PhysEd #physicaleducation #PEChat #healthandwellness #FitnessEducation #HealthyKid #ActiveLearning #EdChat #SchoolHealth #PhysicalLiteracy #TeachingPE #EduLeaders #FitKids #peteacher #fungames #kidsactivity #learningthroughplay #PEgames #educationalges

For at least 5 minutes a day, sit down with your child and join them in an activity. That includes drawing, playing with dolls, building blocks — anything that doesn't have a right or wrong way to play (like video games), says child psychologist Kerrie Murphy. Don't ask questions or give commands — this is your child's time to be in charge. Research has shown that this kind of playtime can be helpful in treating disruptive conduct in children. https://lnkd.in/gqzMG4tW #parentinghack #lifekit #itsonly5minutes

The word “play” conjures up an amalgamation of vivid memories. For some, it could be the spectacular sensory experiences of propelling paper boats in water and building sandcastles, while for some others it may be the mind-boggling stories they weaved when playing ghar ghar or office office. It is only when one zooms out to take a quick look at the small childhood events that made up their personalities when the role of playtime takes shape. The ingenuity you used to build objects out of scrap, the boundless creativity that set loose in games of make believe, the physical strength and athleticism that loomed large over a game of cricket—all byproducts and elements of play that shaped your being in unimaginable ways. Here’s 5 ways in which childhood play benefits children. #DayofPlay http://surl.li/ugshu

You can help children balance screen time and educational tech by setting clear guidelines. Establish limits on recreational screen time, encourage breaks for physical activity, and ensure a variety of offline activities. Choose high-quality educational apps and games, engage in co-viewing, and foster discussions about what they learn online. Regularly assess and adjust screen time rules based on the child's age, developmental stage, and overall well-being. #ScreenTimeBalance #EdTechForKids #DigitalParenting #HealthyTechHabits #TechInModeration #BalancedLearning #ParentingTips #SmartScreenTime #EducationalApps #FamilyMediaBalance #TechAwareParents #DigitalWellBeing
