We often stay late in the office... Sometimes, it's for work calls or traditional board games🌆 But this time, the whole #incorateam took part in first aid training. We invited our defenders to teach us how to properly apply a tourniquet, bandage wounds, and act in dangerous situations. For example, we learned that it is important to know how to apply a tourniquet and fold it so that it can be used quickly when needed. We also learned what should be in a first aid kit and much more. Unfortunately, these skills are now more important than ever. We are grateful to the defenders for their time and experience. 💙💛 #firstaid #firstaidtraining #team #teamactivities #ukraine

An early action can save someone’s life, therefore whilst the person on the scene is waiting for the medic to arrive, they can commence CPR as soon as possible. The objective for CPR is to ensure exchange of CO2 and oxygen continues in the lungs to avoid causing ‘brain’ death due to lack of oxygen. In addition, CPR will also support the flow of blood through the body due to the heart being compressed between the chest and backbone. We are incredibly proud of our team members for dedicating time to upskill and grow professionally. Congratulations to Kagiso Ratlhapi on recently completing his Fire and First Aid training, his commitment to preparedness truly exemplifies the Paratus spirit. Here’s what Kagiso had to share: "I decided to do the fire and first aid training because I wanted to be prepared to protect myself and others in an emergency. Through this training, I realized the importance of staying calm under pressure and prioritising the safety of those around me. I learned how to effectively assist during crises, from understanding what should be in a first aid kit, how companies must issue these items compliantly to managing panicked individuals with confidence and care." #ParatusEmployeeExcellence #ContinuosDevelopment #EmployeeTraining

Take note—training and exercising indoors, such as in gyms, can have profound short- and long-term consequences for your physical, physiological, and neurological health, as well as that of your children. Regardless of how advanced or well-equipped the environment may be, confined indoor spaces—often inadequately ventilated—permit the accumulation of harmful substances and restrict access to fresh air, leading to significant health risks over time. This affects both men and women, contributing to respiratory complications, compromised immune systems, and a cascade of detrimental effects on both physical and neurological well-being. These risks are compounded by exposure severity and hereditary factors, with generational influences playing a pivotal role. Health vulnerabilities passed from parents to children—whether through the father or mother—can perpetuate a cycle of compounded health issues. When poor environmental conditions persist, these risks intensify over generations, resulting in progressive degradation of both physical and neurological systems. For instance, Mike would have fared far better exercising in the Wyoming mountains, where the natural environment fosters resilience and promotes overall well-being. For individuals with higher body mass or sedentary habits, the risks of indoor gym training are even more pronounced, as it fails to deliver the comprehensive benefits of outdoor exercise while increasing susceptibility to respiratory strain, stagnant air exposure, and insufficient neurological stimulation. It is paramount to prioritize outdoor training—whether in forests, by the ocean, in deserts swept by strong winds, or in pristine mountain environments far removed from industrial pollutants like oil fields and gas stations. The colder the environment, the more beneficial the effects. These natural settings not only fortify the body but also stimulate neurological function in ways that indoor spaces simply cannot. By providing clean air, diverse physical challenges, and neurological engagement, outdoor environments break the cycle of generational health risks, fostering long-term resilience and ensuring a healthier, more sustainable future for both individuals and families.

October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month! Doing something is always better than doing nothing so if someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest (many incidents are at home), call 9-1-1 and start compressions. If you're in a public place with an AED and can send someone to get it, do that too but do something! Right now, you can train for the moments that matter - online, in person or with a blended class redcross.org/beready #SuddenCardiacArrest #CPR #WorldRestartAHeart #CPRsaveslives
