They are skilled at navigating the workers compensation system and advocating for the needs of their patients. A recent study by a large commercial carrier reflected that when nurse case managers are involved with a workers’ compensation claim, costs are reduced by about 25%. Roles include communicating with medical updates on progress, facilitating approvals, referrals, evaluating quality of care and cost efficiency all while facilitating the necessary job modifications to ensure return to work. FutureComp’s senior nurse case management team works in collaboration with all parties for optimal outcomes.
