Very thankful to Terry Hughes and Ann Michelle Palecki from The Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) for joining us in Miami for an important and timely discussion regarding Florida House Bill 989. Thank you, Peter Rahaghi, for moderating the panel with me and for hosting the event, and to David Schwartz and FIBA for this opportunity. Excellent and informative presentation by OFR. Very helpful to our industry. #bankingindustry #bankinglaw #Floridalaw #regulatorycompliance #FIBA #GTLaw

What are the Educational, Health, or Economic Benefits to these Players and their Families for that kids uncompensated participation in any additional “NON-SCHOLARSHIP” private third-party postseason football games that pay the Universities and the Conferences for the use of their free labor to put on these highly profitable Bowl events. The answer is ZERO! These additional 1-5 POSTSEASON games are also above the Players’ 12 game athletic scholarship agreement? Our Proposal offers Major Benefits in all three Categories to the Players and their Families! Scholarship Football Players are owed Hundreds of Millions of dollars from this year’s Media contract that uses these Players’ Name, Image, and Likeness NIL without any equitable financial consideration to the Players or their Families! This lost Money could have a major impact on these Players lives, the lives of their current and future family members for generations? We do not support, or agree with the House vs NCAA Settlement or the current covert attempts to extend and expand this Antitrust exploitation of our young (mostly minority) FB & BB Players' labor that the US Supreme Court and Federal District Court have recently struck down as illegal and implausible.

We’ll cover revenue sharing, employment, NIL for international athletes and more. If you’ll also be there and want to meet up to talk #NIL, legal issues relating to the House settlement, or anything else college sports related shoot me a message. #nacda24 #ncaa #nameimagelikeness #collegeathletes #collegeathletics #sportslaw #LinkedInSports

On 26 February 2024, it was announced that Everton Football Club (“EFC”) had succeeded in its appeal against a Premier League Commission’s decision to sanction EFC with an immediate ten-point deduction for EFC’s breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules. The Appeal Board’s decision provides valuable guidance on how to approach sanction in such cases, as discussed in this article 👇 #FFP #PSR #SportsLaw #FootballLaw

📣 BREAKING NEWS! Implementation of the National Football Agent Regs in England has been POSTPONED, at least for a while. At the conclusion on Friday of the FA Rule K arbitration proceedings brought by a handful of English agencies (challenging the implementation of the new agent regulations), the tribunal confirmed that it would not be in a position to hand down its decision for 1 to 2 months. In the meantime, pending the earlier of that decision in the case or 30 November, it has been confirmed that the NFAR will not apply in England. It seems the FFAR will, however, still be implemented on Sunday around the rest of the world. But not in England. And not in Germany (or for any transaction with a link to Germany). And only partially in France and Italy. This means that, for now at least, it’s business as usual for FA-registered intermediaries when it comes to conducting Intermediary Activity and working on Transactions in England. If an agent were to conduct a Transaction outside England, the FFAR would, it seems, apply and a Football Agent licence would be needed (subject to the positions in Germany, France and Italy). Depending on the outcome of the FA Rule K arbitration, it may be that the FFAR / NFAR are implemented in England in a couple of months or, if the agencies who brought the case are successful, it’ll be back to the drawing board for FIFA. The outcome of the FA Rule K arbitration proceedings brought by agencies CAA Base, Wasserman, Steller and ARETÉ in June 2023 was announced yesterday. In short, the Tribunal has declared that the service fee cap and quarterly payment restrictions imposed by the FIFA Football Agents Regulations (FFAR) are non-compliant with the Competition Act 1998. Therefore, the FA are prevented from implementing these regulations into the new National Football Agents Regulations (NFAR). This is the most significant setback to date for the FFAR following legal challenges in all major agencies markets, namely, Germany, Spain, Italy and France preventing the full implementation of FFAR into national regulations in those countries (for now). Litigation regarding the FFAR will continue across Europe for the foreseeable. The Tribunal’s full decision has not been published yet. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how the FA will approach the new NFAR in light of this decision. You are paying NPFL champions 150million as prize money for a team of about 22players and other club staff. Almost equivalent the prize money given to BBNaija winners. You spend more than that on cars for senators. Where is the incentive to invest in the league? Where is the ROI after i calculate the overhead spent? I will spend 200million yearly to maintain a club, for a prize money of 150million. Do people leading these organizations ever think at all? The prize money in the NPFL shouldn't be anything less than 350-400m, but we are not ready for that conversation.
