Democratic President Joe Biden delivered a shaky performance at June 27's debate while his Republican rival Donald Trump battered him with a series of often false attacks. The two oldest presidential candidates ever exchanged deeply personal insults ahead of November's US election. The two men traded barbs on abortion, immigration, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, their handling of the economy, and even their golf games. Read 👇

Trump has already been president, many people hate him, yet America still exists and elections are still being held. Biden has already been president for nearly his full term, many people hate him, yet America still exists and elections are still being held. Anyone saying a candidate is the end of democracy forever or that they will forever destroy America is just trying to contribute to a hostile atmosphere and is not engaging in a good faith argument. I think after what just happened on Saturday it'll become clear who the people are who actually want to make America better and who just want to incite constant division and have endless polarization. It should be possible for people from both sides to come together and discuss actually making the country better without resorting to continually talking about extreme worst case scenarios that are quite unlikely. Sticking to examples of what someone has actually done, or has clearly indicated they intend to do, vs examples of worst case scenarios that might happen in the future that aren't clearly based on anything the person has said themselves, I think, can help to reduce the level of toxicity in discourse.

🌟 Excited 🌟 As contenders for the US Senate seat reveal their stances on Israel, there seems to be a clear divide emerging within the candidates. Additionally, in a bid to distinguish themselves, they are all vying to position themselves as the most anti-Trump candidate. It's fascinating to see how the topic of Israel has become a point of contention among these candidates, showcasing the complexity of foreign policy discussions in the current political climate. The emphasis on being the most anti-Trump candidate reflects a strategic move to align with certain voter sentiments and differentiate themselves from the former administration. Looking ahead, it is likely that these divisions and strategies will continue to shape the discourse leading up to the Senate elections. This dynamic environment sets the stage for a highly competitive and engaging political race that will be closely watched by many.

And it outlines some expectations around what a “Trump Harder” political mission will mean and be. #cima #aicpa #worldin2024 #future #trump2024 #ukraine #internationalaffairs #uspolitics https://lnkd.in/edzEhzT4

A very good analysis of the USA coming up to the 24 election. The USA was never designed to be an empire, and now the old contest between looking inward to the basic nature of America and looking outward to the future of America is playing against a background of outside disinformation designed to obscure anything that is good about America. The 2024 election will determine the fate of the wider world as well as the political and cultural direction of the USA. It will also occur against a backdrop of allied autocrats and generally incompetent governance. Interesting times. https://lnkd.in/gem5AMT8
