India’s women workforce participation hit its peak in 2000 at 31%. Of late, it has been around 24%. The fifth largest economy in the world is ranked among the 12 lowest in the world. India will need to grow at 7-8% for the next 20 years to be a developed nation. That is going to be a hard thing as-is, but we are missing out on a significant tail-wind by not accelerating women participation in the workforce. And if we are to make that happen, we need to cut through a lot of socio-economic beliefs. Many that we will have little control on. People often ask me, "Why didn't you just switch roles within Amazon?" "Who leaves Amazon?" or say things like, "You shouldn’t have quit," and "Be wise next time." But leaving Amazon was a careful and intentional decision, and undoubtedly very hard too. My time there was invaluable - I learned amazing skills in leadership, setting professional boundaries, and balancing work with life, and I met one of the best people there so far. However, as much as I valued my experience, I began to realized that I wanted more. I wanted “that” something to work directly with clients, manage projects, lead teams, and take on new challenges that would push me further. Staying in the same place, even one as great as Amazon, could have led me to settle into a comfort zone. And comfort, I’ve learned, can sometimes lead to “complacency” my friend. Since this is coming from a PR public policy expert, I appreciate information that explains the corporate policy on performance. 250K is a large number of new initiates, what happened to the last round of seasonal workers? This is a great gig, I am sure. As a PP advocate, maybe you should explain some standards. Such as; work conditions, health, expected performance, technology enhancements, expected automation understanding, standards of physical expectations, standards of equipment, standards of clothing, standards of footwear, standards of distribution, etc. The list is long. As a short-term holiday worker, here to help out Amazon, what sort of long-term employment is expected? Can I work the holiday, then again work another rush on another day? How is performance measured? How is performance monitored? Amazon will have another amazing Holiday Season, for sure. But who pays?

From Amazon to Google I was so mad about working in Amazon, I still remember the time, when everyday I wakeup in the morning and I always be like, "Aaj toh hum Amazon mein jayenge" I love my that job, so much. As, Amazon was my first professional job in my career, back in 2020 when I was in 2nd Year of my college. Before that, I use to do lot of part-time unprofessional jobs like, Delivery, Working in Warehouse and a other bunch of similar jobs. One thing is common in all of my Job is, I always respect my job, I literally worship my every-single work, doesn't matter whether I'm a delivery guy, or working in a luxury office. What matters is, this is my job. And because of this, I'm feeding my family, myself and I'm fullfiling my livelihood and basic necessities. And thats what Shree Krishna has said "Apne kaam ki, Pooja kro. Toh Tum swaym, meri hi pooja kr rhe ho" And, "Jab tum apne karam ko dharam ke anusar kroge, uss se bada koi dharam nahi hain" So, please everyone respect and love your work. Doesn’t matter how small that is, always think about that. Your present work has made you capable enough to make the further decisions. Ask to them, who don't even have work to do.
