I have hit over 17,000 followers here on Linkedin and I thought it would be a good time to re-introduce myself :) So, who is Paige? (Let's pretend you asked) -I am a mother first to my two toddlers -I am a wife -I was involved in the NFL for a blip of time ;) - I have been in staffing for over 13 years and MAJORITY of that time was spent in the technology and sales lane. What do I do now? Your first handful of hires are critical to the success of your team. And I see new founders making this mistake ALL the time. They hire people to "advise" based on experience. They hire people that are too high level. The ones that are tired of being in the weeds. The ones that just want to tell you what to do and say "they advised" but not actualy help you move the needle. Sure, this is helpful in some capacity - that's what advisor agreements are for. But your HIRE is not an advisor. Your hire is someone that is doing work. And you need to hire someone who's willing to be a sponge in your business, do the work, get shit done. Someone that has seen some shit but still has so much to learn. Someone that is willing to try new things and be uncomfortable not knowing all the answers. Someone that loves to collaborate and be creative in finding solutions. That's who you hire. A figure-outer. You're not hiring an exec suite. You're hiring someone to help you get to the next stage. The builder. Go find them!
