We're so thrilled that tenants are finally moving into their brand new homes at Cornerstone Suites in Mississauga. Some of the new tenants previously lived in the run-down care home that Indwell has turned into affordable supportive homes. They definitely appreciated the change! According to staff, one of the new tenants said, "This is kind of healing, you know? This place is totally different but it's my home. It's better this way." Another said “This is way better than I ever thought or expected!“ We can't wait for more homes to be filled! Want to participate in celebrating? Join us at our free Grand Opening and 50th Anniversary Celebration on September 12. Visit indwell.ca/events.

FivePoint introduced the first of what is now eight communities in Great Park Neighborhoods 10 years ago with the promise that “life will be different here.” It’s more than just a slogan. It’s a goal and daily challenge to create a place with distinctive style and personality. One that’s lively and imaginative, with a few surprises and delights along the way. Beyond the creation of new streets and structures, residents and visitors tell us they feel a strong sense of community, opportunity and connection at GPN... something different than what they once knew before. As FivePoint continues to invite the community to celebrate GPN’s 10th anniversary, it’s been fun to find collaborators who share that vision and have an interest in creating a uniquely DIFFERENT kind of experience -- both for Great Park Neighborhoods residents and the surrounding community. In the spirit of a modern-day speakeasy, the Irvine location of Left Coast Brewing Co. (located a stone's throw from GPN) has introduced a special “life will be different here” blonde ale this month into its collection of craft brews. If you know to ask for it and tell them Great Park Neighborhoods sent you, you’ll get a free collectible 10th anniversary pint glass. And food/drink discounts (shh… it’ll be our secret). But for those who don't know to ask for it, we're hearing the name is piquing curiosity, inspiring taste tests, and creating conversation. So... please stop by to raise a glass and say CHEERS TO 10 YEARS… and celebrate the beauty that comes with being different. Details: https://lnkd.in/g2NzC5rR

Feeling very inspired after Tuesday night's Salon Canberra event ‘Enhancing Communities through Infrastructure, Placemaking and Public Art’. The beautiful theatrette at the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia was completely full. Thank you to Catherine Carter for providing this opportunity. There were many takeaways from the panel that stuck with me, but my favourite was from Nikos Kalogeropoulos: We are creating fewer reasons to step into the public realm. We create bigger, more elaborate homes, with home gyms, home theatres etc. We drive from these ultra-comfortable homes straight to our sterile, climate-controlled offices and then home again. And yet, so often are the memorable moments made elsewhere, in the public realm. In the spaces between destinations. This was a thought-provoking moment for me, that something seemingly trivial can have a huge impact on the community and its engagement. We need to include art and the public realm in our daily lives. How much beauty and culture do we miss? How many moments of connection do we simply, subconsciously, refuse to experience?

What if you could experience the magic of NYC—Broadway shows, amazing food, museums, and breakthroughs in life and business—at a fraction of the cost? I’m thinking about offering a group version of the “Travel with Me” experience. Here’s the idea: I’d rent a large house in Brooklyn (or a similar spot), and we’d share housing costs, making the price $3,500 instead of $5,000. If we can get 8-10 people on board, you’ll get the same curated itinerary you’ve seen me put together—dinners at NYC’s best spots, theater, museum trips, and late-night conversations that lead to massive life breakthroughs. The twist? We’ll process the work as a group, but I’d still do 1:1 onboarding calls with each of you before the trip, and give you a personal follow-up call after we’re done to make sure you’ve got clarity on your next steps. Interested? Drop “Brooklyn” in the comments or DM me for more info! Let’s make this happen. #TravelWithMe #GroupExperience #NYCAdventures #LevelUpYourLife #JohnAlanTurner #BrooklynRetreat

Check out Wellogy Principal and CFO, Matt Canterna in this recent post about the design of Knowlton School at OSU!
"The building is really one continuous volume, and when you look at how the ramp navigates that space, it forces you to immerse yourself into the language and design process that's going on in each and every studio." Matt Canterna, AIA (BSArch ’07, MArch ’09), Principal and CFO at Wellogy in Columbus, Ohio. --- In honor of the 20th anniversary of Knowlton Hall, we spoke to some of those responsible for its creation and to those who use the building every day.
