Formula 1 is 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁! 🏎️ Really? 🤔 I'm always fascinated by F1, it's a sport where every millisecond counts, and the lengths drivers and teams go to achieve perfection are truly astounding! At the recent Belgian Grand Prix, George Russell was disqualified because his Mercedes car was found to be underweight, 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭.𝟱 𝗸𝗴 below the minimum weight limit of 798kg. This seemingly minor discrepancy stemmed from a meticulous one-stop strategy from Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, which caused the tyres to lose more rubber than expected and insufficient fuel drainage. The penalty? Losing a hard-fought victory. in 2016, Nico Rosberg took precision to another level by shedding 1 Kg from his calf muscles to gain a competitive edge of three hundredths of a second over teammate Lewis Hamilton, Highlighting the relentless pursuit of marginal gains in F1. Nico went on to win the Drivers Championship that year by 5 points! 👏 Certainly, Formula 1 isn’t just about speed; it's about the relentless pursuit of perfection. 2024 Formula 1 Pre-Season Testing: Day 1 Tyre Analysis - It seems the 2024 season is starting the way the last one finished, in other words, with Max Verstappen leading the field. While Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team have almost 60 % of the 2020 partners on board also 2024 Aston Martin have 11 %. Mercedes have one of the most stable, small changes from year-to-year, partnership network in Formula 1. It is perhaps unfair to compare the Mercedes-AMG Petronas network with Aston Martin, simply because Aston Martin was Racing Point in 2020. But on the other hand it is interesting to know how much a partnership network changes when a privateer team becomes a works team. Sauber will probably face the same massive changes in the partnership network when Audi takes over. In the picture we see the Racing Point partnership network 2020 compared with the network 2024. Left from 2020 are: 👉 Pirelli is as a F1 tire supplier still with Aston Martin 👉 Canadian Bombardier has been with fellow Canadian since Stroll invested in Formula 1 👉 JCB, the UK manufacturer of construction equipment, is also still with Aston Martin. American Movil, Telcel, Claro and Infinitum, the Slim family companies, followed to Sergio Perez to RedBull Racing in 2021. BWT is with Alpine F1 and Ravenol with VISA CashApp RB F1 team.

Will Norris never get a championship? Watching Norris race in #F1 at Silverstone last year was immense, the crowds cheered him every lap as he was the only one keeping the RedBull of Verstappen honest. A very likeable and marketable bloke, always smiling, great for the McLaren Racing brand, but … There are two factors that affect his future potential achievements: 1) He has committed long term to McLaren, which is ultimately a gamble. A betting person would put McLaren a steady 4th place team, fighting it out for 3rd in the constructors every year. They had a great season last year, but let’s not forget that Scuderia Ferrari and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team had a poor year really. This makes a drivers championship hard to achieve for any McLaren Racing driver. 2) Does Lando Norris have that extra little bit, that GOAT potential, that determination to put his car in front when it’s a tight race, taking the risk of losing it all whilst going for the win? In race trim over the last few seasons both Lando and Charles Leclerc have shown a lot of respect to Max Verstapen, maybe a little too much. No one doubts whether Max has the determination, but watching Norris, he is a great racer, lovely bloke, but maybe, just lacking the bite to win? Despite the comfortable win for Verstappen and Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology, yesterday's Formula 1 Grand Prix saw some interesting strategies taking place as a result of an early safety car. Most notably the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team using Kevin Magnussen to slow down the pack of cars behind in order to build a pit window for Nico Hulkenberg, ultimately earning their first point of the season. In the gapper plot below it is observed between laps 21 and 33 the extreme pace drop-off for the cars behind Magnussen, while from lap 39 onward he was able to open a comfortable gap. The team would have used live updating vertical slices of a gapper plot similar to the one shown below to identify if a suitable pit stop window was present, with a typical anticipated stop time between 20 and 25 seconds depending on the circuit. Further strategic battles between McLaren Racing and Lewis Hamilton took place throughout the GP, with Lando Norris matching the pace of Hamilton during their long opening stint on the Medium tyre, and covering off the undercut by responding immediately to the lap 36 pit stop from Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team.
