The June 2024 edition of Trade Show Executive (TSE) is live! In this edition, we feature Matt Logan, Executive Vice President of Informa Markets - Engineering (IME), who continues to grow the division’s business while creating a thriving internal community. Logan started his career at a small B2B print publisher, and has leadership experience in strategic brand development, business operations, and sales and marketing management. He shares his approach to fostering collaboration, harnessing emerging markets for growth and bringing IME, which currently includes 47 global events operating in 10 countries, to new heights. We also recap the 2024 SISO - Society of Independent Show Organisers CEO Summit, which returned to pre-pandemic numbers and provided executive leaders with a strong lineup of education and networking opportunities. The event’s high-level education focused on pressing industry topics and trends, and at SISO’s annual Report to the Members, the 2024 Krakoff Industry Award of Excellence was presented to Nancy Walsh, President – North America at Informa Markets. Then, we look at how after recently taking over management of the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition, Informa Markets was determined to digitally revolutionize the event at all attendee touchpoints with a new website, event-dedicated social media accounts and other features. The market leader is looking to expand the concept of digital transformation across all its portfolios. Next, we explore inclusive spaces and culture at events. Show organizers and suppliers from Google, RX Global, Emerald and Freeman Company reveal how they are championing diversity and inclusivity at their organization using employee resource groups, collecting data from employee surveys for analysis, providing continuing education for teams and more. Additionally, we introduce the 2024 TSE Trailblazers, who were honored at this year’s Fastest 50 Awards & Summit at Resorts World Las Vegas. These industry stars are a group of motivated, inspired and innovative event professionals who are poised to become the next leaders and executives in the events industry. Finally, our Q1 2024 Dashboard reports double-digit increases are still rolling in for the industry, although at lower rates than in 2022 and 2023.
