Just in case you ever wondered what the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) does and how it works for members and the wider professional security community. These documents give you a flavour of its activity and frame work. However, the depth of knowledge, expertise and decades of experience that come from our members and partners are key to ensuring professional security services and solutions continue to be delivered on a national and global scale.
Today we release some interesting guidance for members and perspective members on some of the cogs behind the machinery; how to get involved in committees, an overview of our varied sections and how we interconnect with bodies in the UK and overseas! 'BSIA elected committee members: a guide to duties and responsiblities': this guide lays out how we manage the various sections of membership. This includes how decisions are made, how rules are created, amended and changed, and how committees are constituted. Each section has members that are elected onto its section committee, and from that committee, we appoint a chair (and where possible a vice chair) for an agreed period of time. If you're a BSIA member looking to get more involved this is a handy guide on how you can put yourself forward to take part in our sections and committees. 'BSIA capability statement': this handy document brings together all our sections and how they work - our industry is extremely diverse in its skills, products, and services and the BSIA is organised into sections to represent this diversity and focus member activity on innovation and development of standards. This is a handy guide to introduce both existing, new and potential members to the varied sections and their activities at the Association. 'Organisations and standards bodies relevant to the BSIA': the BSIA has links with many organisations in the UK, Europe and worldwide to raise the profile of BSIA members through the lobbying for, and raising of, standards. This is a great guide for highlighting how the BSIA, through its members and its executive, ensures thorough engagement with organisations, committees and working groups, and promotes industry issues and values. 🌍 IDI Conference 2024: ESG in the distribution and retail chain – WORKSHOP 2 Environment Social Governance (ESG) is becoming an issue that companies have to handle in most jurisdictions. Although the relevant rules and provisions mostly concern the supply chain (i.e. on the procurement side), in fact, they also affect the distribution systems and networks. The greatest difficulties arise from the lack of specific explanatory and applicative rules that should help companies to orient themselves to this matter. The second workshop of this year’s conference will be dedicated to this topic: the aim will be to create the conditions for a fruitful exchange of experience and information between lawyers from different jurisdictions and in-house lawyers from companies. ➡ Register to the conference at: https://lnkd.in/dSBAUAcJ #IDIConference #ESG
