As part of our initiatives to protect our planet, we're in India this week with rePurpose Global an organization that empowers businesses to act against the global plastic waste crisis. Innersense and rePurpose Global have been working together to protect our natural environment from plastic waste and its impact in urban and rural areas of India. Stay tuned to our stories this week as we experience the realities of plastic pollution and get a glimpse of the real change we're creating on-ground. #plasticrealityproject

What is plastic pollution and why does it matter? 🤔 Plastic pollution is more than the single use packaging that is touted as the villain of all plastics. 👺 When ANY plastic isn’t recycled or disposed of correctly it can end up harming animal and marine life, amassing in our oceans and breaking down into micro-plastics that stay in the ecosystem.👎 Since its creation in 2011, Plastic Free July has raised awareness about the plastic pollution crisis and has seen an average reduction of 18kg of waste and recycling per person. Last year 87% of the 89 million participants reported making one lasting change.🤝 So we implore you to challenge yourself and make a lasting change. Be a conscious consumer. Join us avoiding plastic in July…. and August…. 🤝 #plasticfreejuly #plasticfreejuly2024 #plasticfree #environment https://lnkd.in/f6rJSUr

At Culligan Bulgaria, we encourage you to join the Plastic Free July initiative! Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental problems of our time. Over 8 million tonnes of plastic reach the oceans every year, threatening marine fauna and flora. Further, plastic waste can remain in the environment for hundreds of years, breaking down into microplastics that enter the food chain and affect our health. How can you get involved? ♻️ Choose filtered water: invest in a water filtration system at home or in the office; ♻️ Use reusable bottles on the go; ♻️ Spread the word about the importance of reducing plastic waste; ♻️ Reduce, reuse, recycle. At Culligan, we believe that every step towards reducing plastic waste makes a difference. Join us and be part of the solution for a cleaner, more sustainable future! #plasticfree #plasticfreejuly #plasticfreelife #culligan #culliganbulgaria #wateryoulove #sustainablefuture

Day13: Impact of plastic pollution on earth Plastic pollution poses a significant threat to our planet. Every day, millions of tons of plastic waste enter our oceans, harming marine life and ecosystems. These plastics break down into microplastics, which are ingested by marine animals and enter the food chain, potentially impacting human health. On land, plastic waste litters our landscapes, clogs waterways, and contributes to environmental degradation. To mitigate this crisis, we must reduce single-use plastics, promote recycling and waste management infrastructure, and advocate for sustainable alternatives. Our collective actions today will determine the health of our planet tomorrow. 🌍 #PlasticPollution #letsspeakafrica #14daysofenvironmentalactivism

Everyday we’re confronted with plastic. And everyday plastic pollution gets worse. But what are we actually doing about it? We don’t #ChooseToRefuse plastic in our day to day lives nearly enough, making us complicit and increasing the intention-action gap to solving our global plastic problem. It’s not all our fault as consumers and we know that (partially why we remain complicit… placing blame on the companies aggressively producing more plastic). That’s why Plastic Free July is so important— because it challenges us to change the status quo and take REAL action. Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution by providing resources and ideas to help reduced single-use plastic waste everyday at home, work, school and even at your local establishments. Join us this month is refusing single waste plastic and take the challenge! (Link to register in the comments) #TimeToGetGrounded #PlasticFreeJuly #PlasticPollution

Did you know that just 6 companies are responsible for 25% of global plastic pollution? - Coca-Cola: 11% - PepsiCo: 5% - Nestlé: 3% - Danone: 3% - Altria: 2% - Philip Morris: 2% Even more shocking, a mere 56 companies account for over 50% of global plastic waste, polluting our planet with little to no consequences. This is an urgent call to action for businesses and consumers alike. It's time to demand better from corporations and support sustainable practices. Together, we can drive change and protect our environment from the growing threat of plastic pollution. #Sustainability #PlasticPollution #CorporateResponsibility #Environment #EcoFriendly #GreenInitiatives #CircularEconomy

Plastic Free July shows the true power of community action! 💪 Launched in 2011, the Plastic Free July campaign has achieved some incredible impact: ✨ 89 million people participated globally in 2023 ✨ 87% of participants made at least one lasting change ✨ Participants reduced their households’ non-recoverable waste by 900 million kg in 2023 ✨ Participants reduced their households’ plastic consumption by 240 million kg in 2023 In addition, over the last 5 years, participants have avoided 10 billion kilograms of waste. That’s more than all the world’s cleanup efforts. At CVA, we want to help empower even more people to adopt plastic-free living, and to help protect our ocean, wetlands, and rivers from the impacts of plastic pollution. ➡ Download the CVA App and take our #SeaToSource Plastic Waste Challenge to conduct a family-friendly plastic waste audit of your home. This is your first step to plastic-free living! Our oceans have become a significant dumping ground for plastic waste. An estimated 8 to 11 million metric tonnes of plastic enter the oceans every year. This plastic eventually breaks down into microplastics, which fish often mistake for food. A review study (from March 2019 to March 2020) stated that a median of 60% of fish—belonging to 198 species captured in 24 countries—contained microplastics in their organs. As we consume these fish, the microplastics can enter our bodies, presenting potential health risks. Let's take responsibility for how we dispose of our plastic waste. Join the Tide Turners Plastic Challenge to combat marine litter by registering with WWF-India at www.tide-turners.org. Together, we can make a difference and protect our oceans. #wwfindia #ocean #plasticpollution #tideturners

In the world 🌍 of pollutions, iam going to create a some awareness about plastic pollution from this presentation...and Let's make our Earth free from Plastic 👉"Let us wipe the plastic ; before it wipe us". Plastic pollution is a growing crisis affecting our planet. Every year, millions of tons of plastic waste enter our oceans, endangering marine life and ecosystems. Microplastics have infiltrated our food chain, posing health risks to humans and animals alike. Beaches and waterways worldwide are littered with debris, tarnishing natural beauty and biodiversity. The persistence of plastic waste, lasting for centuries, underscores the urgency for action. Recycling and reducing single-use plastics are crucial steps in addressing this issue. Innovations in biodegradable materials offer hope for a cleaner future. Public awareness and corporate responsibility can drive significant change. Together, we can combat plastic pollution and protect our planet for generations to come. 👉"Be a part of SOLUTION ; not a part of POLLUTION". #Revatiharsha Thank you mam for giving this opportunity to build our confidence and skills in this professional world. #Presentation #professionalskills
