Celebrating Success and Fostering Connection within Our Team! I wanted to take a moment to express my enthusiasm for one of the most rewarding aspects of my role – celebrating the achievements of our top associates and leaders each quarter. This not only allows us to acknowledge outstanding performance but also presents a unique opportunity to connect with our team members on a personal level. As leaders, it's crucial to remember our own journey, the times when we were equally eager to showcase our capabilities and sought face-to-face interactions with executive leaders. The desire to discuss career paths, explore upcoming possibilities, and establish a genuine connection with leaders is a shared sentiment among all of us. These moments of celebration go beyond recognizing professional accomplishments; they provide a platform for us to understand the individuals behind the titles. Getting to know our associates personally fosters a sense of camaraderie, empathy, and shared purpose within the team. In the hustle and bustle of our roles, it's easy to overlook the significance of these connections. Yet, by taking the time to engage with our team members, we not only celebrate their successes but also create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. As we continue to grow and excel together, let's cherish these moments of connection. They remind us of our collective journey and the shared commitment to success. I look forward to more opportunities to celebrate the achievements of our team and strengthen the bonds that make our workplace truly special.
The associates who won Associate and Leader of the Quarter for Quarter 4 of 2024 along with our Leader and Associates of the Year were invited to a very special dinner to acknowledge and celebrate their achievement. They got to bring a plus one and dine with Bernardo, our General Manager and the Executive leader of their Department. Congrats winners! #ExcellenceDinner #AssociateoftheQuarter #LeaderoftheQuarter

Meaningful recognition is such a powerful thing, I was reminded of this yesterday and last week. Whilst public displays of recognition can be important for some personality types, a thoughtful discreet thank you is all some people need. Unfortunately, I don’t think every leader in business will realise the power of a meaningful thank you! Yesterday two things happened around me which really made me think. 🏕 My son was “promoted” to Senior Sixer for his Cub, (The Scouts group he's part of in York), he’s been a Sixer (a leader of a pack of six cubs) and before that a seconder (a deputy leader), but today as he entered his cub pack the leader asked him if he wanted to move to the senior role, Jacob jumped at the chance, and was so excited to tell his mum and dad. We are so proud of him. 👩💼 One of our owners mentioned a colleague of mine and how much of an asset they were to the business and how they will be a great help for the hotel, that colleague wasn’t in the room but it was such a powerful statement, something that they thoroughly deserve, a powerhouse in the world of Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA! 🐋 Finally, last week our SVP Carol Dodds announced some wonderful recognition for commercial teams, this might not be discreet ("well how can a four foot whale be discreet"!) however it's certainly a thoughtful and meaningful recognition. Well done to all the teams recgonised this month. Aziza Yessi, Wes Wilson, Irma Debese, Chris Boocock, Sheree Jones & Rochelle Jeffrey. You should be very proud of your achievements. 🤩 The power of a meaningful, thoughtful acknowledgment of a job well done. If you’re fortunate enough to be in a leadership role, where you are looked up too remember the power of a thank you. Would love to hear from my network, what's the best form of recognition you've seen or received in your career? #Leadership #recognition #scouts #sixer #amy

It took a marketeer to make people brush two times a day |🎬Brand Identity | Brand Awareness | Brand Guidelines | Creative Designing | Research based Marketing
Gyaan ki baatein on Linkedin : 1) If you get recognition at workplace it is because of your hardwork and not because of your manager. 2) If you do not get recognition or upgrade it is because of your manager. 3) Ask promotion whether you deserve it or not.

The power of accountability... A public promise made and forget Patrick Hodgdon ☘️ being the one to hold me accountable, but it's friends, colleagues, and my own team wondering where my two posts are and why I haven't followed through. That's also what has made this year so much fun for our team is the culture of accountability that has been established. We've set a system of checks and balances for our goals (reducing them to micro ones as well so that we can constantly see small wins). Our team does daily stand-ups, where as the year has gone on, we've refined each one in the morning to have a specific focus so that we are prepared to go about our days and can take something meaningful into the business right away - an example, Monday Morning Huddles were often very low energy, the team suggested many ideas and what we came up with was a simple 15 minute walking huddle. No need for formality, grab a cup of coffee, walk the dog, walk to go get coffee, inside/outside, irrelevant, let's start the week casual and discuss a win outside of work. Immediately, the other huddles and intention we carry throughout the day becomes higher energy. Daily write ups detailing our 3 main goals: building pipeline, advancing pipeline, and closing pipeline keep us on track and know where we need to maintain, dial it up, or stop overrating. We also include notes and additional topics worth mentioning or following up on, along with trends seen in the field. Special shout out to Joe Byne for showing me the power behind this dual street of accountability. Lastly for myself in order to be a better leader it takes me receiving feedback so thank you to Alessandro Gadaldi, Claudia Nordheim, Talbot Wienholt, Thomas Ruffennach, Meredith Hunt, Henry Kosvic, Simon Dinkin, Daniel Schoon, and Rose Jacqueline Sikder for holding me accountable and offering me the privilege to lead you because you all are bettering me. Patrick Hodgdon ☘️ - No public shaming, I'm getting better 😁

Director of Sales & Marketing at Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa | PCH Hotels & Resorts | LION
"More is caught than taught." This adage holds true, making it essential to choose the people you surround yourself with and especially your mentors wisely. For the past eight years, I've had the privilege of learning from Rick Smith, one of the kindest gentlemen in hospitality. Recently, Rick asked me to help him grill burgers for our Ambassadors at Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa. It wasn't just about grilling; it was a masterclass in leadership through service. "Billy! Would you like a burger or chicken? Burger, great choice! Thanks for everything you do for us!" "Hey Katherine! Roll Tide! Burger or chicken? Perfect! How's your mom? Thanks for all you do to make Ross Bridge successful!" These conversations went on for two hours as our team members got a burger from their General Manager. However, they received more than just food; they got a moment where Rick served them, called them by name, and thanked them for their contributions. Here's what I caught: 1. A Leader is a Servant First Leadership isn't about titles, power, or wealth. Rick demonstrated that true leadership is about serving others. Through this small act of service, he showed our team that he cared. 2. People's Names Matter Rick's ability to recall names was impressive. With over 200 ambassadors, he knew everyone's name, making them feel valued. Names help us connect, and this connection was evident when Rick greeted them personally. 3. Authentic Gratitude Impacts When Rick thanked our ambassadors, they stood taller, realizing their contributions were noticed and mattered. His gratitude reminded everyone that there are no insignificant roles; everyone and everything they do makes a difference. This experience taught me that leadership is about serving, connecting, and showing genuine gratitude. Rick exemplified these principles, leaving a lasting impact on me and our team. Thank you, Rick, for the invaluable lessons in leadership through serving. Have you found someone to mentor you both formally and informally? As a leader, do you schedule both formal and informal time with those you lead so they can see lead in the little things? #KeepImpacting #Leadership #Service #Gratitude
