Working to mitigate climate change, natural climate solutions (NCS) allow us to harness the power of the ecosystems around us to sequester carbon and experience the core benefits of the nature around us. Developing NCS projects is a new process which lacks regulation, leading to distrust for continued investment. In a new paper published in Nature Communications, authored by The Nature Conservancy among others, highlights the five foundational principles which are needed to create a high-quality, high integrity natural climate solution. With these five principles in mind, the American Forest Foundation's Family Forest Carbon Program was named an "NCS Exemplar." The White House has released the Climate Resilience Game Changers Assessment! This document catalyzes American innovation in climate resilience by identifying a set of specific technologies and solutions for which targeted investments could have potential to help the Nation prepare of climate change in game-changing ways. Specifically, I'm happy to see the 'actionable climate data and information' section highlighting efforts to connect producers and users of climate services and information.
