I got this video on a social media with no clue of it's authenticity/validity. I felt helpless and yet reminded myself of how I can be of help. But my concerns are drawn to how these people are striving to survive in this current economic situation of the country (Nigeria) and the way government intervention are tailored to their perculiar circumstances 1. Are these interventions inclusive? if there are. 2. How accessible are they particularly for people living with disabilities? 3. Do they even have access to information at all? We are living in a world where the poor depends on the rich, the illiterates depends on the literates, the disabled on the abled and is gradually becoming a norm. These however should have been vise versa. Imagine this woman has been financially empowered to employ the service of the abled, how much would she have contributed to the economy in her own way. I will continue to advocate for ALL inclusive intentions to meet the need of ALL. RESILIENCE!!!!

Ensure your 2024 DE&I goals include the disabled voice! It’s so important that we are hearing from disabled employees while talking DE&I. Did you know that only 4% of disabled employees across the United States feel safe enough to disclose at work? Are you set up for success to allow your disabled employees the safety, equity, and ability to be their full selves at work? Let me help make sure you are! It is my passion in life to spread Tourette Syndrome awareness as well as fight for the disabled community. I can come speak to staff, leadership, ERG/BRG groups, and more! Spots are filling up fast and I can’t wait to come speak at your establishment! In person and virtual options available. #diveristy #dei #inclusion #equity #accessibilitymatters #tourette #speaker #culturetransformation

Being neurodivergent is actually dope.
Tuesday’s #WorldAutismAwarenessDay is an opportunity to celebrate autistic people's invaluable contributions to communities everywhere. But around the world, they continue to confront barriers to their fundamental rights to education, employment and social inclusion. “Today and every day, let’s unite to realize their rights, and ensure an inclusive and accessible world for all," said UN Secretary-General António Guterres. https://lnkd.in/e9jCgYv

As we mark Autism Awareness Day on April 2nd, it's a moment to reflect deeply on the profound impact and journey of autistic children, especially within the context of Jamaica. Amidst the vibrant tapestry of our nation, autistic individuals contribute their unique perspectives, talents, and gifts, enriching our communities in immeasurable ways. While the prevalence of autism in Jamaica may not be extensively studied or reported, it is essential to recognize the challenges and opportunities these individuals face within our society. In Jamaica, resources and support for autistic individuals may vary, influenced by factors such as access to diagnostic services, cultural attitudes towards disability, and awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Despite these challenges, there is a growing recognition of the importance of fostering acceptance and inclusivity for neurodiverse individuals in Jamaican society. Differently-abled children, including those with autism, serve as beacons of inspiration, teaching us invaluable lessons in empathy, compassion, and unconditional love. Their resilience, creativity, and unwavering spirit shine brightly, illuminating our collective journey toward understanding and embracing neurodiversity. As we celebrate Autism Awareness Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment where autistic individuals in Jamaica are valued, empowered, and allowed to thrive. #WorldAutismAwarenessDay #CelebratingDiversity #AutismAwareness #Neurodiversity #InclusionMatters #JamaicaAutismAwareness #Acceptance #LoveWithoutLimits #DifferentNotLess #Empowerment #CommunitySupport #CelebrateDifferences #JamaicanInclusivity #AwarenessDay #UnityInDiversity #TogetherWeThrive #EmbraceNeurodiversity

R Community Episode 77 Conversation with Many Bautista, community worker Community support is crucial in helping new immigrants integrate into Canadian culture and in raising awareness about Pride Month. Here are several ways communities can assist: Organize social events where immigrants can meet locals and build connections. Encourage participation in local festivals, fairs, and cultural events. Volunteer Opportunities: Encourage immigrants to volunteer in community projects and initiatives. Volunteering can help build a sense of belonging and improve language skills. Raising Awareness about Pride Month Educational Campaigns: Organize workshops and seminars to educate the community about the history and significance of Pride Month. Provide resources such as pamphlets, books, and online content about LGBTQ+ rights and history. Inclusive Events and Celebrations: Host Pride parades, festivals, and other celebratory events that are open to everyone in the community. Include activities that educate and entertain, such as storytelling sessions, film screenings, and art exhibitions. Collaborations with LGBTQ+ Organizations: Partner with local LGBTQ+ organizations to co-host events and share resources. Invite speakers from these organizations to talk about their experiences and the importance of inclusivity. Visibility and Representation: Display Pride flags and symbols in public spaces, businesses, and community centers. Highlight stories and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in community newsletters, social media, and local media. Safe Spaces and Support Groups: Create safe spaces where LGBTQ+ individuals can meet and support each other. Establish support groups for different demographics, such as youth, elders, and families. Advocacy and Policy Support: Advocate for policies that protect and support LGBTQ+ rights at the local and national levels. Encourage community members to participate in advocacy efforts and support LGBTQ+ initiatives. By fostering a welcoming environment and promoting inclusivity, communities can play a significant role in helping new immigrants integrate and raising awareness about important cultural events like Pride Month. https://lnkd.in/gNubmq2r Infinity Safety Awareness R Safety and Consulting #diversityequityinclusionbelonging #lgtbqcommunity #equity #inclusionmatters #pride2024 #pridemonth #volunteer #immigrants #diversityandinclusion #Diversity
