We're really excited that this special wildlife trundl will support two important Wildlife Trusts in the UK: Sussex Wildlife Trust and Cheshire Wildlife Trust 🦋 🍃While they cover vastly different geographies, they inevitably share common challenges to the wildlife and environments they are both on a mission to nurture and protect. 🐝 🐾 According to the 2023 State of Nature Study, Great Britain is already classified as one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries. Nearly one in six of the more than ten thousand species assessed (16%) are at risk of being lost from Great Britain. 🌿 But, there is always room for a fight back and whether they are chalk-land meadows on the South Coast or heath and riverside meadow in Cheshire, meadows are invaluable habitats for plants, pollinators and animals that are vital to rebuild our bio-diversity. 💚 This is a cause that Cheshire Wildlife Trust and Sussex Wildlife Trust are passionate about as the UK has lost at least 97% of our wild meadows since the 1930s. 🦔 Sussex and Cheshire Wildlife Trusts have ambitious targets for restoring or creating meadows and we're delighted that our trundl will support their work 🌳 trundl will share more in the coming weeks about the similarities and differences, but BIG thanks to Sykes Holiday Cottages for supporting this trundl. Truly living up to their B Corp status and taking environmental responsibilities seriously. #wildlife #nature #environment #charitywalk #purposedrivenbusiness

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently approved Idaho Fish and Game’s revision of its State Wildlife Action Plan, which extends the plan for a decade and ensures Idaho will continue to receive about $700,000 annually in federal funding. The Wildlife Action Plan is for conserving and managing Idaho’s most at-risk fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats. For the first time, plant species were incorporated into the 2023 revision. #IdahoWildlife #StateWildlifeActionPlan #IdahoFishAndGame #WildlifePlan

Tree Hollows: Sanctuaries for Australian Wildlife 🦉💚 Tree hollows play a crucial role in supporting our diverse wildlife, serving as homes, feeding areas, and breeding spaces for a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and frogs. At pgg, our dedication to wildlife preservation is driven by a profound sense of responsibility, fostering a meaningful partnership between our companies, Wood for Good & Austral Tree Services. Together, we are committed to repurposing natural tree hollows whenever possible, ensuring a nurturing habitat for our local wildlife. 🌍💚 In a recent project, Austral and Wood for Good took deliberate measures to safeguard natural tree hollows from the site and reintroduced them back into the environment. The goal was to minimise the impact of several tree removals on local wildlife. Through meticulous strategic planning, they preserved the habitat of local wildlife by carefully harvesting and reinstalling suitable hollows into nearby trees, ensuring these precious habitats remained a vital part of the local ecosystem. Explore more about this impactful project on our blog at https://lnkd.in/d-RTAesS and learn more about our pgg mission to care for people and the planet through responsible tree management. 🌿💙 #TreeHollowPreservation #WildlifeSanctuary #treeservices #pgg #Austral #woodforgood #Arborists #treehollows #habbitat

New report! 📣 County Wildlife Sites are wildlife-rich places which have been recognised for their special nature value. However, unlike statutory designations, such as Sites of Special Scientific Interest, County Wildlife Sites provide the land and wildlife they contain with no legal protection. A newly published Devon's County Wildlife Sites Report highlights the value to nature and people of 2,191 County Wildlife Sites which together cover 5% of Devon’s land area. However, it concludes that, while many are being carefully looked after by landowners, half are not being managed well or are in ‘unfavourable condition’, while a further 14% are in a poor condition which threatens their value to local wildlife. Read on and find out how you could help us identify, monitor and protect these special places. 👇 https://buff.ly/3K6fJKA Devon's County Wildlife Sites Report was created by Devon Wildlife Trust, Devon Biodiversity Records Centre and @DevonCountyCouncil.

Today, the American Wildlife Conservation Partners (AWCP) – comprised of the nation’s top 52 sporting-conservation organizations that represent America’s hunter-conservationists, professional wildlife and natural resource managers, outdoor recreation users, conservation educators, and wildlife scientists – released Wildlife for the 21st Century, Volume VII (W-21). This comprehensive publication focuses on solutions to conserve wildlife and their habitats across the nation, bolstering public access, and protecting our outdoor traditions. Every four years since AWCP was first convened in 2000, the partners have put forth their collective priorities in Wildlife for the 21st Century, which serves as the roadmap for AWCP’s vision for wildlife and sportsmen and sportswomen. “Our partners that make up AWCP should be proud of their ability to coalesce around a shared set of policy priorities which, should they be adopted, would produce real and meaningful benefits for hunters, habitat, and wildlife across the United States. It is a comprehensive suite of recommendations that can serve as a blueprint for conservation and hunting policy in the future,” said John Devney, AWCP Vice-Chair and Chief Policy Officer for Delta Waterfowl. Christ driven influencer, advocate and soldier for a "Reverence for Life" , the ethos that is the love of Jesus bestowed universally. Blogger and Author of the For Our Friends the Animals quartet. Cancer survivor!
#bear #automobile #encroachment #habitatloss #death #biophilia #coexistence #halfearth #life #love #reverenceforlife #loveofJesus THE TRAGEDY: In a heart-wrenching incident, a rare white grizzly bear and her two cubs met their end on a Canadian highway, stirring deep sorrow among wildlife conservationists. The grizzly, known as Nakoda, and her cubs were killed in separate vehicle collisions on June 6, along a road between Lake Louise and Yoho National Parks. THE OSTENSIBLE CAUSE: Experts highlight that habituation to human presence often leads to tragic outcomes for wildlife. THE CUSTOMARY, VACUOUS SOLUTION: The poignant story of Nakoda and her cubs underscores the ongoing conflict between wildlife habitats and human infrastructure, a pressing issue that calls for continued efforts in wildlife Conservation and road safety. THE SOLE, VIABLE REMEDIATION: A reverence for life is an ethos of life affirmation, and as such, it is an ethos mandating that humans accept and discharge a duty of stewardship to all God's creatures. For wildlife, this duty is best discharged, exclusively so, by restricting large swaths of acreage for their existence, free from human meddling and depredation. Not such fragmentary sops as "wildlife conservation and road safety", but an actuality as God and nature intended. To do so is to confer the love of Jesus universally, as we are bid. This is a reverence for life.
