Daily caregiving tasks may feel overwhelming for family caregivers, but implementing the correct strategies can help you handle them more efficiently. Start by creating a structured routine that includes medication management, medical appointments, physical therapy, and leisure activities. Use a calendar or digital app to keep track and set reminders. Delegate some tasks to other family members or hired professionals to avoid burnout. Take care of yourself physically and emotionally, and don't be afraid to ask for help when needed. Remember that your well-being is just as important as the person you are caregiving for. ‘I Wish I Had Known That No One Was Going to Help Me’ https://lnkd.in/evaF4y6D These narratives certainly bring home the realities of caregiving for many caregivers. This is why we need elected officials who will recognize the importance of the issue and lead efforts to support caregivers. These efforts do not have to come from government alone, but should represent the contributions of the private for profit and nonprofit sectors of our economy. But we need leadership; and, we have the infrastructure to provide for the integration and coordination of services. This must be a national priority and help should be standardized throughout the country through our government agencies in conjunction with the private sector, including academia. Much of what is happening today, however helpful, is not providing for sufficient integration, and is fragmented. This is what is needed. What are we going to do about it? What are we going to do to help ourselves? We have reached the limit of our current individual capabilities. #newagingpartnership #caregivingconfidential #caregivingsupport
