2 weeks, 4 new baristas to train. A challenging yet rewarding experience. A few things I have learnt over this period 👇 Challenges Time Constraints The most significant challenge is the limited time frame. Two weeks is a short period to cover coffee knowledge, technical skills, customer service, and operational procedures. Working within a well organised plan helps. Individual Learning Paces Each trainee has a unique learning style and pace. Some may grasp the concepts quickly, while others might need more time and repetition. Balancing the needs of all four baristas without slowing down the overall progress is key. Maintaining Quality and Consistency Ensuring that all trainees achieve a high standard of quality and consistency in their coffee-making skills. This involves repeated practice, detailed feedback, and coaching where required. Rewards Building a Strong Team Successfully training a group of baristas fosters a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. The shared experience of learning and growing together helps in building a cohesive and supportive team, which is essential for a positive working environment. Personal Satisfaction Watching the trainees progress from new to confident baristas is rewarding. Their growth reflects the effectiveness of the training offered and the effort put into training them. The rewards far outweigh any challenges. The satisfaction of seeing a well-prepared team, the improvement in service quality, and the positive impact on the operations of the business make it worthwhile. With careful planning, dedication, and a supportive approach, the training period can be transformed into a highly productive and fulfilling experience for both the trainer and the trainees. #maestro #barista #coffee #coffeeshop #training

Hospitality knowledge, relevant skill are key components apart from ATTITUDE, Personslity and Communication in Hospitality Industry . Skill is the best survival and grow asset but it require continuous focus , practice and determination. Acquiring Skill is long term game but once you entered in game , you will love to master in skill . I met few professionals who entered in kitchen through Apprenticeship but by their continuous efforts, determination reached to the level of Sr. Sous Chef or even Executive Chef level . Education gives you a platform to enter and then you have to show your skill in performing the work assigned and emerged out as best among the lot to grow and become inspiration for others .

d. I wouldn't say I was fully committed to the learning process, because in the beginning it was pretty hard to get up early, do your best, make sure everything is correct and no mistakes are made so that the restaurant is fully operational for our guests. And doing all that in such a short time seems exhausting and stressful, but it's worth it. Yes, I'm curious about this whole learning process, but I wouldn't say I'm interested in it, because I'm curious about how things work and how to solve the different problems that can occur, but I wouldn't be interested in managing it myself. e. The challenges I faced during this module were laziness, because after taking the first class and knowing how things worked, I wasn't really eager to go to class and would rather just be the commis and nothing else. But I'm starting to realize that it's not so bad as long as you do your part and work as a team to make it go fast and help each other out. I started sleeping early the day before service class, being on my best behavior and welcoming our guests with open arms until the end of the semester came. f. Although the laziness is fixed, there are still some places where misunderstandings occur. I could try to clarify my thoughts before I speak, listen and ask for feedback. Regular team meetings and open discussions can also help us to communicate with everyone. But at the same time, it's a process and I think it's okay to make mistakes along the way.

Senior Manager Operations /Skill Development / CSR Implementation / Rural Development / Business Development
Your Superior's version:-- In a company where you are engaged ,how hard you work with fully honesty & dedication.Unless your Superiors support you ,your efforts go unnoticed. whatever they communicate to the management is taken to be correct. On the other hand management never questions them ,but simply removes the employee without any fault of his. This is the corporate world where all sort of buttering takes place, good people are removed without even being questioned once. How many times action has been initiated against those high end members. They are paid well, stay in posh hotels, throw all sort of tantrums , quarrel with drivers, room boys etc. Companies forget that ground level staff only bring laurels to the company ,not those seated in those AC rooms.

Every learning experience counts I just stumbled on this workshop I facilitated for a restaurant about 4 years ago. I covered subjects like communications amongst staff when taking food orders and between staff and customers, conflict resolution, command chain, damage control and several relatable issues facing front-end and backend staff in restaurants. What stood out for me with this particular session, was that I had been an Operations Manager of a restaurant. So, it was very easy to teach from a place of experience, not just dishing out tips and words. The staff could relate with my descriptions of things that could go wrong in a restaurant. My job was to find the intersection between my experience and insights for them to learn from, and understand what to do in different circumstances. Between that time and presently, I have lost count of workshops I have facilitated. I am even more coordinated, sound and affirmed in my delivery. All these can be traced to my undergraduate years when I rehearse in a stage drama unit at night (in fellowship) and performed before hundreds and thousands of audiences, while I studied law by day. I was also a member of the Moot & Mock unit in my law faculty. Those formative years have built a stage confidence and public speaking aura I can't easily shrug off. Every learning experiences count. It doesn't matter how brief and inconsequential it might be at the time. They are bricks of framework that would build your milestones, as you grow in your personal and professional experience.
